perhaps i'm being too ambitious, but i'll be disappointed if we don't go at least 6-4 over this home stand. had my eyes on this stretch since the off season, hoping that the team would survive things up until now. they've done more than survive, and this would be a good time to pad some wins.

Not just you ManRam. I seen this current stretch of 19 games, starting with the series against the Mariners and going through the 26th of this month and put a target of at least 12 wins on it. It called for 4 against the Mariners and Mets, 6 during this homestand, 1 on our trip to Milwaukee and managing to steal one more game somewhere.

As expected Walker has been activated off the DL and Mercer has been optioned to AAA. McDonald remains that is the reality and we are forced to accept it.

Walker is back and in action but sadly Martin isn't yet. We really need Martin to help control the Brewer's running game this series because they have shown repeatedly they aren't afraid to run and McKenry has proven to be incapable of stopping basically anyone this season. Bad news just keeps coming today I guess. Also I'm a little confused as to why Jones is out of the lineup today against a right hander.

    Starling Marte, LF
    Travis Snider, RF
    Andrew McCutchen, CF
    Gaby Sanchez, 1B
    Neil Waker, 2B
    Pedro Alvarez, 3B
    Michael McKenry, C
    Clint Barmes, SS
    A.J. Burnett, P

Trying to think logically about the Mercer move all I can come up with is if they release McDonald they only have two shortstops on the 40 man roster and that is something they are not comfortable doing. Perhaps when it is time for d'Arnaud to return he will take McDonald's place on the 40 man roster and Mercer will get the call to replace him in the majors.

Also wanted to add that Grill may be unavailable today for personal reasons. He was seen leaving the clubhouse in street clothes. No sign of any sort of injury though.

The only real reason I feel we could win this game is because we have AJ on the mound. Like you said Burgh, people are running at will on McKenry, we don't have Martin's bat, probably without Grilli, and this is Walker's first game back

We do get some help. No Braun or Weeks in the starting lineup for the Brewers.

Also Nick Leyva (3B coach) is also expected to be away from the teams for a few days. Sofield is moving from 1B to 3B and Jauss is taking over at 1B. At least I think that is the plan I just tried looking for the note I saw and couldn't find it.

Well that's how it goes some nights (especially when we play the Brewers). Get them tomorrow.
