    High Expectations for 2013

Now that the draft is over with and the offseason is under way, what is your highest expectation of any player for 2013?

With all the changes and hype about it to the secondary, i'm going to exclude those players from my choice, but feel free to pick one if you so choose.

We all know what Garcon is capable of and he and Morgan both played through injuries last year, I think coming back healthy disqualifies them from "high" expectations.

Fletch isn't getting younger and although I hope he can play at least as well as last year, I don't really have high expectations for him this year, and am looking forward to finding his replacement next year.

I'm leaving RG3 off of my list simply because I can't fathom him playing better than he did this past season, and also partially because I hope he misses the first 4-6 games.

The same logic I apply for Garcon and Morgan also apply to Orakpo, we all know he is a beast so it's expected by all of us that if he doesn't perform well at 100% this year, there may be some question marks. The same could also be said about Davis.

So my highest expectation for 2013 is for Hankerson. I've had faith in this kid since we drafted him and so far all he's shown us is how to drop passes. I'm hoping this is the year he just breaks out and becomes a star, he could be a serious red zone receiver.

Ryan Kerrigan. He has to take that next step and with Orakpo returning he "should" have less pressure on him from opposing teams.

EDIT: now that I'm thinking more about this, I guess Orakpo and Kerrigan are both responsible/interchangeable for each other taking the next step. I would like to see one of them become one of the elite pass rushers in the league.

Hankerson is an iffy subject for me. His rookie season he had Grossman and was injured, not to mention dealing with a lockout. Last year was his 'first' full season, plus he had to learn an offense where receivers have up to six different roles depending on what Griffin calls at the line. Ideally, this is his 'second' season and first season returning with the same offense.

I agree that Hankerson needs to break out, and I even wrote about it here, but how fair is it to put the make or break label? That's the question. Additionally, he wasn't terrible with dropped passes, he actually had the least amount of drops this past season (Garcon led the team). Not to mention was .8% away from having the best catch percentage on the team (Garcon led).

I'm not sure if I would say I have high expectations, but I want to see how Niles Paul can perform in his second season at TE. Obviously last year he wasn't spectacular, but late in the season he seemed to be getting it going -- plus we have to remember it was indeed a position change for him. Want to see how he can progress at the TE position.

Assuming Davis can stay healthy and Reed is legit. We could have a NASTY four tight end set this season in Washington, as well as the future.

I like the Nile Pauls pick, and I do have high expectations for Kerrigan in the sense that he played extremely well last year and I expect him to perform as well, but since i'm confident in Orakpo to return to dominance I don't really consider Kerrigan a "high" expectation either. I guess my question should be what are your absurd expectations of a player who hasn't quite proven themselves yet but you think definitely should, i.e. a breakout player.

I also have high expectations for Crawford to emerge as a great return specialist to replace Banks, even though he may not win the position.

An absurd expectation you say? That's a tough one. I think I'm gonna have to go with Jordan Reed then, believe it or not. I know he's a rookie, but everything I've read and watched on him, I think he could be that big time guy that takes this offense to the next level.

Man, I know I sound crazy saying that, but it's honestly what I believe.

If we're talking current roster, then assuming no injuries occur, I would say Joshua Morgan. He's always had that potiental in his career, just couldn't get away from the injuries. He should be 100% barring injuries, so I think of our current starters, Morgan, rookie wise who could be in the rotation, Reed.

My highest expectation on offense will be Josh Morgan, we all want Hank to be the number 2 guy but Morgan has had all of his surgeries and should be completely healthy this season, he needs to prove he can be the big wide receiver we need.

On defense this player has already played well but Perry Riley needs to step up his game to the next level because I think we all know this is London's last year and Riley is the hier to that #1 MLB position and he needs to prove that this year his is ready to take over that role.

    here's my high expectations...
    1. philip thomas will start at FS day 1 and will be one of the biggest steals in the draft... i also expect he will be in the discussion for DROY because of the star-filled cast he has in kerrigan, orakpo, fletch, etc....

    2. on offense, i expect aldrick robinson to take a big step forward and get around 750yds receiving.... i expect hankerson to flirt with 1000yds,..

    3. overall, if the main man is 100% by week 1, i expect us to win 11 games in the regular season and a playoff game....

Not a chance, this dude is an average WR at best. I'm still confused why he gets all the hype every off-season. Just because he looks the part doesn't mean he can play. There are a ton of WR at the combine every year that look the part but can't play and Hankerson falls into this. His routes are bad, his hands are bad, he doesn't get seperation from NFL CB's, and he isn't a smart football player. He will be a career 35-50 catch, 400-600 yrds. WideOut, nothing more.

I have high expectations for the entire offense. I want to see us continue to be creative and take the next step as a powerful offense. My expectations for the Defense is much lower, but I'm hoping we hit on one of those drafts picks that would be huge for us. If I have to pick a player than I agree with Garcon, I have high expectations for him and he needs to stay healthy and play at a high level all year for us to take the next step.

yes, he is drop-prone, but the coaching staff has high hopes for him...

i completely disagree that he cant get separation or that he's a dumb player... it was really his 1st year considering the fact that he saw action in all of 2 games in 2011 before going out with injury...

the issue with both robinson and hankerson, as with all young WRs, is consistency... he will look like a #1 wr in certain games like against the dolphins and browns, and then he will be held to 1 or no catches in another...

consistency comes with coaching.... thats why it took a couple of years for guys like amyndola, cruz, welker, austin, and many other pro-bowl wideouts to even crack the rotation

You do realize that last year was basically his first season right? He played 3 games as a rookie. Not saying I'm confident in him becoming a probowl wideout but you just seem like you formed an opinion of what he is a little prematurely.

He put up 38 catches for 543 yards while splitting time with Moss, Morgan, and Robinson. So based on what you said in your initial post and the numbers he put up last year, he will never get any better than what he did this year(first full year in the league)? The only room you see for growth is 12 catches and 57 yards.

Still hate the fact that he gets this bad hands rep. He had the least amount of drops on the team last season.....
