I'd also be happy with Utley. He'd bring in a nice vet as a position of need. If the price isn't steep that'd be a good player to look at. Peavy I'd also be on board with. Just don't want to move Bundy or Gausman.
We need several pieces. Most notably a decent 2nd baseman. Brob was here in Dallas today and even if he returns I am not willing to put any faith on him. School may be te answer if we can't find someone on the block. I would like a legit DH and maybe the DH could also spell mcclouth in LF. A innings eater would be nice.
I will def. say I am tired of seeing low .200's and .100's out of our 7,8,9 hitters on most nights.
No doubt. Flaherty I was hoping would find himself, but he just hasn't. We're getting ridiculous hitting from the top, I believe I read we have 4 of the top 10 AL batting averages on our team with McLouth, Machado, Jones, and Davis.
That's my worry. If we have a shot at Chase Utley type guy, we need to make that move.
At what expense? I don't want to part with Bundy, Gausman, Schoop or Rodriguez unless we are legitimately making a run to go DEEP in the playoffs. If we made a trade for Utley and didn't at least go to the World Series, that would have to be considered a failure.
