Let's close this one and open one when it's 2014.

The Lakers aren't going to make any big moves this off season besides trying to sign Howard.

Haven't heard anyone really comment on this one yet.

    Pau+Blake for Ellis+Ilyasova

Before you roll your eyes, check it out.

Pau makes 19 mil/1 yr left

Ellis makes 11 mil/1 yr left

In Ellis, you get a back court guard who can score off the dribble and get his. This is good insurance for Kobe. But also just good to have a guy whose a dynamic scorer like Ellis. Not to mention he's in his last year of his deal. That means the 2014 campaign doesn't get affected as much.

Then there's Ilyasova. He's 25 year old 6'10'' SF who can play stretch 4. He shot 44% from behind the arc, and is Turkish. D12 (assuming he resigns) get's a Turkish running mate ala Hedo Turkgulu, whose a shooter. He has 4 years left on his deal at 8 mil, but I think he's the kind of guy that would flourish in the Dantoni style.

Then finally you get Udoh, whose an athletic big man. Not great, but we could use the athleticism.

    Ellis-Nash-Duhon
    Bryant-Meeks-Morris
    MWP-Clark
    Ilyasova-Udoh
    Howard-Hill

I think there's enough flexibility there where we can be a bit more dynamic and young. Nash could really be a floor general for the bench and have a solid bench squad led by the veteran.
Tanking is the act of giving up a match or "throwing it away", losing intentionally or not competing.

    This is not tanking...

I think the thread went away when we evolved into no assets & no draft picks?
kind of kidding: we do have Pau.
    The Los Angeles Lakers

We have so many of these, we give them out to our fans.

Nash for CP3, Metta for Josh Smith, Pau for Kevin Love, Blake for Sessions, Meeks for Jamal Crawford. That's all we need.

decent idea... only problem is ellis is gonna opt out so he isn't available via trade. Also, with Larry Sanders playing well I doubt Milwaukee is in the market for a center

The Spurs can find valuable second round players, why can't we?

    Ginobili - 2nd round
    Bonner - 2nd round
    Green - 2nd round
    Neal - undrafted
    De Colo - 2nd round
    Mills - 2nd round

They haven't had a draft pick higher than 25 since Duncan and yet they still manage to find guys to stay competitive (and Leonard doesn't count because they traded G. Hill, a 26th pick to get him)

Danny Green was cut by CLE. Patty Mills was in the D-League. Patrick Beverly was drafted by the Lakers and immediately traded. These guys are out there, we need to do a better job of finding them.

In 2009 we traded our 1st round pick for a 2011 2nd round pick (Goudelock) and cash considerations.

We are not a good drafting team. We have made 2 good picks the the last 7 years. Bynum 2005 and Farmar 2006.

"Marc Gasol Sez (born January 29, 1985) is a Spanish professional basketball player who plays for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Gasol was an NBA All-Star in 2012 and won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2013.

He was drafted in the second round, 48th overall, by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2007 NBA Draft. He stands 7'1" tall and is the younger brother of current Lakers power forward Pau Gasol." -Wiki

Whatever they do, they need to keep their 2014 cap space. If we trade Gasol, it better not be for big contracts beyond next season that take us out of 2014 Free Agency for Lebron.

    LAKERS / PACKERS / DODGERS / 18
