Look on the bright side, PJ a goner?

It sucks to lose the way we did, no doubt. But on the bright side I think this will be the end of our interim coach. His rotations, and inability to develop the younger players really hindered the team this year. That's not to say it's the only reason we've played so much consistently uninspired ball; and I'm usually the one to blame the coach, even thinking Avery was prematurely fired, but watching PJ is so frustrating. The dream is for JVG or Phil, but am sure we can find something better then what we currently have.

Pj did an average interim job. Game 7 showed the difference between an average and a very good coach. Bring in a known coach with better credibility than Avery Johnson, so no consecutive first round exits with the better roster, no curse on your cv like PJ losing all first round series. Otherwise bring in a talent but that you gotta find. Also Humphries needs to be traded for an upgrade. Then the Nets should be able to beat anyone in the east not named Miami.

PJ just didn't have this team prepared. Whatever you want to say about the roster when your facing

    Nate Rob
    Bellinelli
    Butler
    Boozer
    Injured Noah

and you lose to that team in a Game 7 as bad as we did it is on the coaching for not getting players prepared. Because talent isn't what did us in.

It would have been one thing to lose against a healthy Bulls team with Rose in Game 7. But with the sick and injured crap that the Bulls went to war with, and to lose to THEM?!? This is an embarrassing end to the first season in Brooklyn and should not leave a good taste in anyone's mouth. I can agree with getting an upgrade over PJ (please not Phil)...but there NEEDS to be massive improvement to the lineup and bench.

With the core four in Williams, Johnson, Wallace, and Lopez together for the next few years...that 5th spot needs to compliment them, and the bench needs shooters.

    THANK YOU PROKY!!!

No shame in losing to that team, it was playoff basketball and passion made the difference. Props to Thibodeau and Chicago for their effort. We may have had a better roster seemingly but that Bulls bench is deep with legit players. Nets have old vets plus prospects who never get playing time. Thibodeau was much better than Carlesimo at fielding a team and that's why we lost. Good luck to Carlesimo in his next job, the man is an average coach and there's nothing he can do about it.

While I agree with the sentiment about PJ's rotations, to say that he didnt have the team prepared for CHI is a JOKE!!! Our guys played hard the entire series. We were in control most of the time. The players collapsed in Game Four, not PJ, the players missed crucial FTs down the stretch, not PJ, JJ went 2-14 in Game Seven, not PJ. That was the diff! Not Thibodeau. And the guys CHI had remaining were still talented. Belinelli and Robinson are scorers, and thats what they did. And Noah was healthy for Game Seven, and he made the diff.

THis is just piss-poor losin'. PJ got us a solid #4 seed, we should be in the semis, and his rotation was the same as Avery's. Instead of kicking him in the *** on the way out, lets show him some respect and move on, hopefully to better things.
    Brooklyn! Brooklyn!
