    Nigel Malone

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indianapolis Colts have signed undrafted free agent Nigel Malone.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound cornerback spent the past two seasons at Kansas State where he recorded 109 tackles, picked off 12 passes, forced one fumble and recovered one. Last season, he led the Wildcats with 14 pass breakups and tied for the team lead with five interceptions. As a junior, he led the Big 12 with seven interceptions -- tied for third-most in the nation.

Malone played his first two college seasons at City College of San Francisco.

He is the 10th undrafted rookie to sign with Indy since the draft ended Saturday.

    Sounds like a good pickup.

They are bringing in a lot of DB's this offseason. The competition should be something in OTA's and Training Camp. It would be nice to uncover a gem or two?
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

Malone made an impactful first impression last season, his first with the Wildcats, leading the conference with seven interceptions.

The California native spent two seasons at the JUCO-level and, although he isn't a big fan of the Midwest (which he has made public several times), he decided to transfer to Kansas State over New Mexico.

Malone emerged as one of the top defensive backs in the Big 12 last season, starting all 13 games and finishing with 58 tackles, 10 pass break-ups and seven interceptions (one returned for a score). He earned First Team All-Big 12 honors and was a second team Walter Camp All-American selection.
Kind of concerns me, and makes me wonder why he would willingly sign here? Were we the only ones that offered or has he changed his stance on that?

At least we're indoors, so if he's concerned about the weather it shouldn't be too much of a problem at least on game days.

After looking into it a bit more, it sounds like he turned it into a positive....

Here is an interview with him where they ask him about it halfway down.

Let's hope. This is Grigson's specialty.

Colts waived Malone and signed his teammate:

#colts sign CB Allen Chapman and waive CB Nigel Malone. That's one Kansas Stater bumping another. Chapman was a tryout player at rookie camp
    - Chappell
