What's up with the AL East?

Sox on top? Yanks above .500? Rays and Jays on the Bottom?

    Will it last?

It is not just the East; In the AL the Royals are leading a Division and the Angels are sub-0.500. In the NL the Pirates are leading a division and across baseball there are only six teams six games or more outside of first.

Welcome to April; the games matter but the trends are meaningless...

you're surprised the 2 teams that have dominated the division for over a decade are on top? It is early but I am not surprised with either and will not be surprised if they are in it at the end.

    +1

Neither team did anything to excite the internet this offseason but at their best are still strong ML squads.

It seems that you can put any player in a Yankees uniform and they suddenly become dominant hitters and pitchers. Maybe the Marlins should change their uniforms to say Yankees and have pinstripes, remove the names. They'd probably win every game.
Converesly, any team with a Maple Leaf is destined to suck.

Yeah, the Yanks has been a surprise thus far. All those injuries I figured they'd languish near the bottom of the division. As for Toronto hard to say what's happening there. Early season jitters probably but they don't look like the world beaters they were supposed to be this season.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 5-8, games this week vs. Chicago White Sox (3), Baltimore (3)
Indianapolis Colts: 11-5, 2013 AFC South Champs, great season guys.
Looking for new NBA team to cheer for
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, good effort guys.

Red Sox are off to a shot start, 10-0 in games started by Lester and Buccholz. If they only play .500 baseball at this point on, they will end up with 86 wins.

IF Boston got the pitching they had a shot to be a threat, and they've gotten the pitching. The Yankees are just strange. It's a damn ugly lineup right now but it's producing. The Jays have been awful. The pitching has been brutal, the offense is struggling, not having Reyes hurts a lot and the defense has been atrocious. Everything that could go wrong for Toronto has gone wrong. On paper, the Jays should be leading this division.

The Orioles have a shot in this too. Chris Davis keeps whacking home runs.

He's been incredible but there's no way he keeps this pace up.
