Raiders' 7th Round- 233rd overall- Pick: David Bass, DE, Missouri Western

    The Steal Of The Draft

This guy is an incredible weapon against the pass. He can both pass rush and cover too. He could play linebacker as well as defensive end. Here's an awesome scouting report:

He might end up functioning as a 'joker' type - some OLB, some DE, but a lot of moving around and rushing the passer.

Maybe he pans out, maybe he doesn't. I don't begrudge anyone who has some doubts about the defensive line - it looks sketchy, at best.

You mean a 'Jack' linebacker don't you? They're used in 3-4 defenses.

Joker is olb in a 4-3, more of a blitzer. Best example is Von miller.

im sorry i watched enough tape this dude needs to start with sio on the outside

guy is so explosive and amazing in pass coverage.
he also watches and idolizes aldon smith and uses his moves again and again.
Look at his weaknesses in the scouting report, the only reason he was a late spec was he played D2.(ala veldheer, D3)

    sio/roach/burnett/bass
ill be disappointed if thats not the case.

I was truly amazed at his coverage ability as a defensive lineman. This guy is like 6'5" 275 lbs!

Veldheer was a different story. The dude was nearly perfect in college. No sacks allowed, good footwork, massive size. He had all the tools to become a successful tackle at the next level.

Every year there are these division II pass rushers who rack up their stat boards with 13+ sacks a season but never pan out in the NFL.

That's a SAM LB. He's the one who calls the blitz.

He will probably backup Andre Carter in the first year. Like Carter he is a pure edge rusher. But he could become a starter in 2014. Excellent pick!!!! I give it an A+.

@erickench I know he has great hands for a de/olb. Hes perfect fit opposite of Sio to start as olb in our 3-4. Some plays he can put his hands in the dirt and others drop back with Sio. Sio Moore played some corner and safety at college just saying.
