    Jets may cut Sanchez

Geno Smith, David Garrard, Tim Tebow and Greg McIlroy may make Sanchez the odd man out according to a rumor per ESPN. The Brick restructuring his contract may make some sense now.

Yes, cut him. There is just no need to keep him on the roster.

Well according to the article Tebow has been gaining some respect around the organization, and Garrard is there as a veteran presence as well, so I don't see the need to start Geno day 1.

Get rid of Tebow; go with Garrard, McElroy, Geno.

even with the Brick restructure the cap hit is still a bit much... I'd rather let sanchez take the lumpps and let geno learn.

No. This would be dumb. Don't waste money to cut some guy who can be cut next year at such a cheap cost. Also, he's earned the right to fight for his job for his first 2 and 3 quarter seasons he was with the team. No need to rush Geno Smith as a quarterback. DEVELOP!

April 7th we had $12.5 million.

We signed Pace and Dawan Landry and it the combined total shouldn't have cost more than $2.5 million, leaving about $10 million in space.

Brick restructured and saved us $5.1 million, pushing our cap space to $15.1 million. Our rookies are slated to cost $7.2 million, which leaves us with $7.9 million in space.

Cutting Sanchez will cost us an additional $4.3 million, which would knock the $7.9 million down to $3.6 million.

$3.6 million space is barely enough to get through the rest of this offseason with, but if you get Mangold to convert his $3 million roster bonus to a prorated bonus and finally cut Tebow then you gain an additional $3.4 million in space.

That would push our cap space from $3.6 million to $7 million.

    Cutting Sanchez is feasible.

What about the 4 million cap hit for trading Revis?
