Montero so far has gone 5 innings giving up 2 runs 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. So even though Montero doesn't have electric stuff he's still able to strike out hitters. A good sign. He has an era under 2.00 that's very impressive.

Torres is not an organizational guy. He's a minor League FA.

Leathersich continues to live on the wild side and not allow a run.

Montero with another good start. He seems to have made the jump to AA seamlessly. He still has work to do and keep refining his pitches but if he keeps pitching like this, he'll be in the majors sooner thn you think.

It seems that Montero's spike in K's is due to guys getting caught looking more in the upper levels. The fact that hitters are more patient have helped him since they are swinging less. Then since does not throw balls guys get called out looking since Montero throws every pitch for strike.

If you're right (and I believe you are) then we'll learn a lot more about Montero once he gets the call up to the swing happy PCL.

If he can be successful there with his aggressive, strike-throwing approach, then I think the buzz around this guy will go nuts.

I honestly think they should just call him up to Vegas now.

Lets see what he can handle.
