    Mock Trade Down Scenarios

OK, a few days left before the draft. I don't expect the Cowboys to either move up or move back in the draft as I think they have their list ready and will have at least one of the following available to be selected @ #18: Cooper, Warmack, Richardson. If so, they get picked. But, what if all of them are already gone and they aren't high on Vacarro? What if they decide to trade back and can find willing trade partners?

With those unlikely scenarios, here are 3 possible trade-back scenarios (not in order of preference) and if we make those deals, who I select with the new picks (note: I used the point value chart just to make it more reasonable):

SCENARIO #1: Bengals (they have 10 picks currently)
    We trade: #18 pick
    They trade: #21, #118 (4th), #156 (5th)...point value is -13 for Dallas
Why we do it: we get the two extra picks giving us options to move back up if needed or added depth to the draft
Why they do it: They move up into the range to possible grab someone like Vacarro ahead of the Giants
    Who I pick: (21) Fluker-OL, (47) Short-DE, (80) Swearinger-FS, (114) Quessenberry-OL, (118) Hill-DT, (151) Barner-RB, (156) Thornton-OL, (185) Wilson-WR

SCENARIO #2: Vikings (they have 11 picks currently)
    We trade: #18 pick
They trade: #23, #83 (3rd)...point value is +35 for Dallas
Why we do it: We don't move down that far and get an extra 3rd
Why they do it: they want that WR in round #1, and use one of their #1's to get it
    Who I pick: (23) Werner-DE, (47) Armstead-OL, (80) Williams-DT, (83) Swearinger-FS, (114) Quessenberry-OL, (151) Barner-RB, (185) Williams-TE

SCENARIO #3: Falcons (they have 11 picks currently)
    We trade: #18 pick
    They trade: #30, #60 (2nd), #127 (4th)...point value is +25 for Dallas
Why we do it: Two extra picks, one late in the 2nd
Why they do it: Their owner wants to win and is a gun-slinger in his own right; he will make the flashy move
    Who I pick: (30) Moore-DE, (47) Armstead-OL, (60) Thomas-FS, (80) Williams,B-DT, (114) Quessenberry-OL, (127) Lattimore-RB, (151) Boyce-WR, (185) Williams-TE

SCENARIO #4: 49ers (they have 13 picks currently)
    We trade: #18, #47 (2nd)
    They trade: #31, #34 (2nd), #74 (3rd)...point value is +50 for Dallas
Why we do it: The value in this draft after the top 10 is in the 2nd and 3rd rounds
Why they do it: They covet Vacarro, but also could grab Austin; they have a lot of picks to use and are not far from winning it all
    Who I pick: (31) Carradine-DE, (34) Cyprien-SS, (74) Thomas-OL, (80) Williams,B-DT, (114) Quessenberry-OL, (151) Barner-RB, (185) Wilson-WR

    SCENARIO #5: DOUBLE MOVE!
We trade: #18 pick to Minny (the deal above), we get greedy and make another swap with Atlanta trading pick #23
They trade: #30, #92 (3rd), #127 (4th)...overall point value (both moves) is +72 for Dallas
Why we do it: JJ is crazy, but JG and SJ see the value in the two trade-down scenario
Why they do it: Minny gets their WR, Atlanta moves higher in the draft
    Who I pick: (30) Carradine-DE, (47) Armstead-OL, (80) Williams,B-DT, (83) Swearinger-FS, (92) Bailey-OL, (114) Thomas-OLB, (127) Lattimore-RB, (151) Boyce-WR, (185) Williams-TE

So, what do you think? Any of these scenarios of interest to you? If we had the picks that I mention after any of the trades, who do you take in those spots?

I won't be happy if they move up, that's for sure...I would be 100% behind it if the right player got within range and we didn't give up our 2nd rounder (ex: Star)

I really hope we trade down and pick up more picks. We have to many needs becuz of the switch to 4-3. We needa add depth at dt and de and we needa safety. We also need oline bad. The more picks the more needs we can address. My nightmare would be Jerry trading up and trading our second round pick and picking tavon Austin lol. I prolly would be very happy that he is a cowboy but it isn't the right move. I would love Austin as a cowboys don't get me wrong it's just we have too many needs.

Scenario 5 would be awesome, but somehow I don't see JJ agreeing to it. Sadly.

This would be beastly!!! And also getting Carradine would save us a lot of $ next year cause we could let Spencer walk in FA.

I believe we will move up for Vacarro if the guards and tackles start flying off the board. Otherwise, we sit tight and see which guard falls to us. If both guards and Vacarro are gone by 16 (Rams) then we shop our pick hard and pray we find a partner so we can move down.
