    Could O.J. Mayo replace Kobe?

He's going to be a FA this summer, he would be a great fill in til Kobe is fully healthy. He would be a nice insurance for us and could be our 6th man when Kobe is back, unless Kobe plays SF and Mayo plays SG. He can become the starting SG for the near future. Of course money talks and the Lakers could only offer the MLE, unless we do a sign and trade.

    Thoughts?

we CANT do sign and trades.

We could sign him to a 1 year contract IF we get kobes injury exception on the promise of pay him more after the season with the capspace.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, sign him to a 1 year deal, then in 2014 when we have capspace sign him to a longer deal. It isn't like the guy wont get playing time, the only question is can he wait another year before he actually gets that big long-term contract. Also, isnt A.I. a FA this summer as well? maybe we can try to do the same for him.

we need a scorer like him to put up shots and create for himself. right now we got only big mans that can score themselves.

Replace might be too strong of a word but he would be a nice addition to this team.

Nah, I don't want us to stay mediocre or worse...

edit: then again... better than anything we got.

Hopefully. He would be a great perimeter player to create his own shot for us. That being said I don't know if he has that strong desire to return to play in LA to give us the 1 year contract.

NOPE, what needs to happen is Meta uses his ETO, Kobe amnesty(or retire he wont comeback 100%), and somehow dump Gasol. with all that money gone dwight, milsap, Igoudala, and chris paul come on down!!

We actually only have the mini-MLE. Can't see him signing a 1-year deal again in hopes of getting a big payday the following year. He already did that last year so THIS year is when he wants the big payday, otherwise he would not have opted out.

yea good plan disrespect the best player to ever play 4 us after he gave his best for the organization, so another team can win championship with him lol than replace milsap wid gasol after gasol starting to look like old gasol. yea igoudala is goin 2 turn down more money from denver where hes finally happy 2 come to play wid dwight. Than chris paul is going to come to la to play and share minutes with nash next year make real good sense 4 him to do that
