Question Will Eli Retire as a Giant?

It's so rare for players to play their whole career for one team now. Even Montana went to the Chiefs and who'd a thought Peyton wouldn't finish it Indy.

Looking around the league it seems like Brady is the only one who could end where he started.

Do you think Eli retires as a Giant without playing for another team?

Obviously there are different factors, injuries, other prospects for the team down the line, but what's you're general prediction?

    There's no "Ovechkin" in "Team".

I would say, Yes, he retires a Giant without playing for another team. The main reason for me is that management/ownership here is different than say Irsay (Colts) or Carmen Policy (49ers) and Eli is not Peyton or Montana. But, these sort of things are hard to predict, mainly because a lot of it will be driven by money (Cap Space) and a player's ego (belief that he can still play/start). The Colts and 49er situations were unique, because both situations had special talent ready to take over (Luck and Steve Young). Will the Giants have that opportunity of drafting a franchise QB while Eli is still here? No one can answer that.

My only hope is that ownership/management do not repeat what happened in 93-94 with the whole Simms/Dave Brown crapfest. If they pull that crap again, they better have a Manning/Luck/Steve Young type player ready.

Very true but Eli's laid back where favre was doing the retirement every year thing and they had arod for 3 yrs when they said bye to him and even the. If he didnt try to retire again ey would of went 4 yrs with him on the bench .

Peyton was a mix of injury and the team was horrible ..rebuild with youth ..luck in the draft ..everyone has to see that was the best move for both who made the playoffs..

Eli sadly doesn't have his brothers years left in him in my eyes expecially if his arm was really tired this last season ..

To be honest i cant see any team besides us wanting eli as a starter at this point. He might take a back up role somewhere, but definitely not a starter. Much smarter to get a young guy and build around besides signing a 34 or 35 year old Eli(I didnt look at contract just guessing that would be his age as expiration)

So if youre a GM youre going to make a 35 yr old qb your starting qb?

If you're a BUF GM and you need a QB who can win and to fill seats, you sure would make that move. Especially with this draft class and FA pool.

Now by the time Eli is 35+ and a FA who knows but there's almost always a team looking for one. Hell Hasselbeck almost had a starting gig and he doesn't have the pedigree Eli does. Favre found 2 starting gigs at the tail end of his career.

    It can happen.

    This depends.

Do you think San Fransisco would hesitate to trade for a 35 year old Eli? They sure as hell won't hesitate to get Eli, knowing that QB is their only weakness.
