    Trade 1st round pick

Packers trade #26 this year for someones 1st and 3rd next year.
    this year would be 2,3,4,5,5,6,7
    Next year would be
    1 Traded pick
    1 our pick
    2
    3
3 Jennings comp pick, with the salary and being the #1 receiver if he stays healthy
    4
    5
5 Walden comp pick, again with that salary and they say he starer material
    6
    7
    7 Crabtree comp pick
Cap hits Tramon 9.5 mil cut. Crosby 3.4 mil cut. Pickett 6.7 mil FA. Finley 8.75 FA
Opens 28.35 mil in cap and TT would go nuts in the draft.

I'd be amazed if a team traded their first and a third to move up in this draft. The talent is fairly equal towards the end of the first to mid 2nd I just don't see it. Especially for that price. Unless it was a top team they would never risk giving away a top 15-20 pick and a third for the 26th this year. Seems crazy to me personally.

I agree with kevolu I doubt anyone is gonna give up a future first and third for our first this year.

I personally don't see Tramon getting cut unless he declines even further this season. I know he said he was still injured last year maybe if he can finally get himself healthy he will return to form.

I doubt Crosby gets cut unless they find a good replacement for him. I know they keep talking they are gonna bring in competition for him but, that doesn't mean they will actually replace him.

Also just because you subtract those numbers from the cap doesn't mean you will have that much money in room you have to remember we have to give out contracts to Rodgers, Matthews, and Raji, not to mention I think James Jones is a FA next year.

Trade 26 and 88 and 123 for 40, 70 and 105 approximately perhaps we can get a 6th also. several teams in the 38 to 42 range may want to move up to get a QB. The 40 pick puts us right where we want for Cyprien or Lacy and 70 set us up nicely for the other RB's if we take Cyprien. Moving up in the 3rd and 4th rounds benefits us more than using 26.

I think TT is looking for another impact player, like a safety or (his love), a WR. I don't think he's looking to trade down.

I could be totally wrong too.
If I facepalmed any harder I would have cracked my own skull.

If they did trade for a 1st and third ...with the jennings comp pick it would actually give them three third round picks....unless i missed something from a previous trade that cost them there 3rd next year?

Your right it would be 3 3rd round picks, 6 picks in the first 3 rounds TT would have a heart attack.

After much thought I have the correct answer to our draft. Trade down from 26 to the 38/40 range. Whatever we get from this trade in picks, package along with 55 to move back up to the same area, 36 to 40.

Pick 36 from trade - J Cyprien SS or E Lacy RB whichever is the most likely to be drafted in the next couple picks.
Pick 40 from trade - E Lacy/ J Cyprien see above. We are able to get our 2 most needed players without spending more than our 1st 2 picks.

With these 2 players our draft is already a success. We've made drastic improvements on both sides Off & Def.

    88. Best WR available
123 Best O Line to add depth, possibly David Quessenberry who plays all 5 spots on the OL
    161 D Line help M Hughes, W. Gholston, K. Geathers...
169 OLB help for depth/ Special teams
    6th Rd TE prospect
    7th Rd Kicker

Not bad, but even if we trade our 1st for next years 1st and 4th we are in great shape. With all the injured players we had last year even if half come back to play the way they did we are in great shape. A decent draft this year we are still contenders with what I am propossing, then next year we have money to spend and a ton of young talent coming in the draft.

He's going to trade up before he trades down this time.

I think you may have just nailed it. This might be the year where it won't be super expensive to move up and you know there will be a guy Ted likes that he may want to go for. He's always leery about pulling the trigger but ya never know.

Not sure who we'd trade up for. Maybe a DL. Other than that I don't know who we'd be trading up for.

    Richardson or Star?

I didn't see us trading up for Clay either. Who knows what happens on draft day. It's not like we can predict what Ted wants or who he likes.
