Starting Defense as it stands now

    LE - Houston
    DT- Kelly
    DT- Walker
    RE- Hunter
    SLB- Burnett
    MLB- Roach
    WLB- Maiava
    RCB- Adams
    LCB - TBD
    FS- TBD
    SS- Branch

Pretty obvious we need some help in the secondary. Another strong pass rusher. That might have to come from the draft. If Newman takes the Raider offer, that will help some for the secondary. I'd put a target on Kerry Rhodes at Free Safety, & re-sign Shawntae Spencer and/or Joselio Hanson to add with Newman and Adams for depth since we won't have much to spend after a signing like Rhodes. Spencer and Hanson should come cheap.

to need ANOTHER strong pass rusher, we'd have to have one already.

Did any player currently on our team even crack 5 sacks last year?

Tough to say, but I remember looking at the stats in week 12 or 14 and we had like 4 sacks or something like that , TOTAL.

The QB must go down, & he must go down hard. We gotta get to him in 2013.....One or two of our draft picks must be dominant for us on that line. We are in dire need of a Dumervil, Von Miller......

I think Miles Burris is going to start. I think he is going to have a better summer, he'll be more relaxed and he should improve.

I think Kaluka Maiava will suprise you. He's still fairly young & improving, & could be the steal of free agency when its all said and done. He's damn good.

I like his instincts better than Burris at this point. Don't get me wrong, Burris will still see some snaps. They both struggle at tackling at times, but Maiava, in albeit limited time last year, was solid and then some. I think Reggie found free agency gold right here. People don't know it yet, but will soon.

    Olb Houston
    De Kelly
    Ilb Roach
    Nt Sims
    Ilb Burnett
    De Walker
    Olb Hunter
    Cb Chekwa
    Fs Ross
    Ss Branch
    Cb Adams

I noticed Houston standing at olb last year in 3-4 sets and did it well. Hunter came in the league as an Olb in the 3-4. Out of our lb's Roach and Burnett appear to be the top two. We can draft a cb, fs, de, olb, te, ot and maybe another nt type.

Brandian Ross is an exclusive rights free agent as it stands right now. We have not re-signed him yet though. As short as we are in the secondary, I have to hope we do just because I know he at least deserves to be on a 53 man roster.

I was thinking this recently too...why not just re-sign Hansen, but Spencer? This would be a good fall back if there are any depth concerns after the draft and camp starts.

Rhodes would be a pretty good signing if Reggie is interested. He may like someone else early who can play FS in the draft. Another guy that played free safety some last year cb Mike Jenkins from Dallas. Guy would be worth giving a shot, especially if he can play both positions if need be.

I don't think Reggie is near done finishing up the depth on this roster.

I wish we could play Houston at DT in a 4-3 or DE in a 3-4. I'm sure he would be much better suited in either of those positions. Once again, our secondary is the biggest mess.

I read the Raiders are gonna run more of the 3-4 as oppose to the 4-3, anybody else read that too?

Agreed. He would do much better at the 3 tech. His best year at college was at DT
