What exactly is the penalty for lowering the helmet? tack on 15 after the run or if you get a 1st down take it away and add on 15?

The NFL is so worried about getting sued again that they're willing to take more contact out of the game.
I wish the NFL could develop safer equipment so they don't change the game. I want kickoffs back...

I don't think this rule will ultimately be that big of a deal. A lot of football guys like Jeff Fisher like the rule. It'll change te game a bit but ultimately i don't think it will have a gigantic game changing impact.
But instead I expect overreactions out the wazoo.

I cannot believe this passed, this really hurts AP in my opinion, sad day for him. Lets just turn the NFL into the Arena league where a running game is non-existant and the passing game flourishes.. Stupid rule just to protect the NFL from future law suits.

Anybody want to blame Goodell again? Get your heads checked, it's the owners and ANYBODY worth their salt knows that RB's run with their heads up usually. They are all taught (not all learn) to not drop their heads b/c it can break their neck.

This rule is dumb. The RB takes on more risk by doing this than the defender.
