Will Kyrie Irving ever win NBA MVP?

I have a standing bet with a friend who has a huge man crush on Kyrie Irving. He says Kyrie will win NBA MVP before his career is done. I say he will not and we have a standing bet of $500. So in a decade or so I will be collecting from him.

What do you think? Does Kyrie have a shot at NBA MVP? Things to consider KD, Lebron, Melo, Rose, Howard, CP3 are under 30. That without taking in account of someone else blossoming and winning the award.

If you count AI as a PG the year he won it there only have been five PGs to win the award.

    Derrick Rose PG 2011
    Steve Nash PG 2005, 2006
AI 2001 PG or SG you choose.
    Magic 87, 89, 90
    Cousy 1957

$500 the easy way in my opinion.
Feel free to add a poll.

Hard to say. I'd like to see the exposure he gets on a contending team (elite). If Rose can do it then Irving can most certainly do it too. I voted no simply because he has to fight with Lebron and Durant as well.

I added a poll to this.

Yes he has a shot too. Guy is amazing and only what 21? Durant and lebron will stand in his way but I think he has a real shot

It's possible with the kind of talent he has. Maybe in the next 10 years but hard to say if he keeps on getting hurt.

When LeBron retires or is near retiring. Perhaps in 5 years? Let's not forget about Durant.

I think the better question is will Kyrie ever make it through a full NBA season.

Kyrie definitely has a chance. The Cavs have a great young core and will add another top prospect in this year's Draft.

Yeah he will, it'll be interesting to see how he can play next to a all-star type player.

He certainly has the talent to do so, but as long as James and Durant are around, it's gonna be at least 3-5 years away. He needs to be on a top tier team too, and that ain't happening anytime soon. Perhaps if gets out of Cleveland, as we've seen Gilbert is terrible at adding talent to his teams superstar. I'd like to see him win one one day, but it may be awhile.

    He'd need a heck of a story.

The Grizzlies win games, but no one on their team has a shot at MVP.
