i have a feeling we are keeping rolando mcclain

so the way the defense is shaping up i really think we are keeping rolando mcclain. as much as he has dissapointted me and many of the guys here on the forum. all signs point to us keeping rolando. I know its just speculation but with our personel we kinda need him if we do run a 3-4

our front seven could easily line up into a 3-4 we still need a nt but if im correct the kid star from utah would be a good nt type player or even pat sims the word on him is when he is healthy he is a brick wall and holds his ground on the line.

    olb de nt de olb
    burnett houston sims kelly/walker maiava
    mlb mlb
    mcclain roach

i would be pretty happy with a front 7 like that and of course bilukidi in the rotation and if we draft someone like star or floyd they would be a huge piece of the puzzle and would most likely start . we could also easily switch to a 4-3 as well. im not saying this is a superbowl defense but i believe this would keep us competitive while we rebuild through the next few drafts.

but back to rolando maybe if we go to a 3-4 he could flourish. It is the system he is used to playing in and hopefully will straighten up and be a solid linebacker for us.

what do you guys think? and im saying this without considering that i dislike the way the guy was acting last year.

If me and King Kong went into an alley, only one of us would come out. And it wouldn't be the monkey. Lyle was the best

I can't see it. He represents everything we r trying to rid the team of. They made him a FB last year so his teammates could pound him. I just can't see him staying unless he has truly humbled himself and committed himself - which I doubt.

I actually agree with Howie since Rolando was awesome at Alabama and he was in a 3-4 there. I think he has been a huge disappointment but maybe in the 3-4 it will rejuvinate him and if he if half the player he was at Alabama that would be awesome for raider nation!!

NCAA is not the NFL. He got exposed in pass coverage. In Alabama he had 10 other guys with him that over matched the opponents' 11. Our defense hasn't even matched up with anyone. If we keep him it might be a mistake.

Completely ridiculous idea,You must be a younger guy.He is on the roster until the draft is completed in case someone offers a late pick for him. There is no way, I repeat absolutely no way Mcclain stays on this team, and there is noway we run a 34.

No way we run a 3-4? I bet we use some 3-4 fronts once in a while. Our base D might not be a 3-4 but im pretty sure with the additions we made that we will at least run some 3-4 fronts!!

We actually won't gain much if any cap by releasing him so there is no hurry to do so. He will either be traded or be a june 1st casualty in my opinion.

I don't think we're going to a 3-4. Jason Hunter is 4-3 DE and has been ever since Allen moved him from LB to DE the position he played in college. Kaluka is too small to be a 3-4 LB and we gave him a three year contract at $2 million per. McClain and Kelly we'll have to be cut so that we could pay the rookies. I think they're is going to be more free agent signings before the draft. Most likely a cornerback since there are so many of them available.

Only Reggie & Dennis know what's going on here. It was just under a year ago that Reggie & Coach Allen were singing the praises of Rolando in camp.

    http://www.kffl.com/gnews.php?id=788...e-in-coverage-

They thought he was having a solid camp, etc.

    http://www.kffl.com/gnews.php?id=801...ing-good-camp-

McClain has been a good soldier since being found guilty of gun charges this offseason, and Allen likes his on-field performance, as well. "A guy I think that has been exceptional has been Rolando McClain," said Allen. "He's been a guy that has done everything we have asked him to do. He's smart. ... If he continues to improve the way he has been improving and continues to fit within the scheme the way he has done so far, I would expect him to have a good year."

Obviously, the season came, he lost his job, raiders record was poor, etc.

I hope they give him another shot. He's 23, still young, & has done stupid things on & off the field. I hope they don't give up just yet. I haven't .

Would love to get a look at him in the 3/4 before the organization cuts ties with him.

Ravens will trade for him. if not, and another team doesn't trade for him, he will be cut. he's a goner. same situation Kelly is in

I think its a possibility because hes young and can use the excuse of still being immature. Look i thought it was a great pick when he was drafted and two years ago he played well in a off year. He deserves a shot in the 3-4 where hes not responsible for coverage, just let him sit back and read the qb and become the playmaker he once was. We have a LB coach thats been around for a long time amd maybe can get this fixed. Too much of a loss to cut him and it will hurt us financially. I just think we would of cut him if that was the plan , No one would trade for him , Guarenteed!
