Who will have the most productive career?

    Out of these 3:

    -Travis d'Arnaud
    -Matt Harvey
    -Zack Wheeler

Who will have the most productive career? What order would you rank them (from 1-3)?

Going with the makeup factor for Harvey or do you think he will have better stuff too?

It's hard to know because we've only seen Matt Harvey at the major league level yet.

If i had to pick i would say Harvey but D'Arnaud is intriguing too based on the fact that you don't see a lot of catchers with his offensive upside.

Interesting, so far both of you have Wheeler 3rd.

I tried to ask myself this way, "If the Angels offered Mike Trout for 2 of these 3, who would you pick to send away?" But in that case, I ended up just saying, to hell with it, take whichever 2 you want... lol

It's completely arbitrary i admit but like you said the makeup is a huge factor with Harvey.

That determination to want to be better to go with his talent might make him something very special.

    Harvey
    Wheeler
    TDA

I think when its all said and done, I think if you take Wheeler's best season vs. Harvey's best season, Wheeler would get the edge. But I think Harvey has a better chance to stay healthy and I love his bulldog mentality. I think he's the guy you want for a game 7 situation or a must win game.

I expect both of them to bet some of the NL's top pitchers for a decade.

TDA on the other hand I expect to be a very productive player for this team. But I don't really expect him to be a top catcher in the league, and thats okay. If he's top 5 in the NL after Posey, Molina, McCann, and Grandal that'd be great. But I don't expect anything huge. .270-.290, 12-20HR, .350OBP would be wonderful.

With all the love that Harvey is getting so far, and rightfully so IMO, if either Wheeler or TDA leapfrogs him by this time next year then we're all going to be really excited about the future of this franchise.

Haven't heard anything about Wheeler's makeup. Of course it's tough to expect anyone to match Harvey in that category, but is Wheeeler a guy that can be believed in, makeup-wise (e.g. toughness, determination, work ethic)?

    I say

    Wheeler
    Harvey
    d'Arnaud

Right now Mets fans have seen Harvey alone and are somewhat bias because of that.

I have my concerns about Wheeler and possible injuries, but I think he will be better overall than Harvey.

Now as far as d'Arnaud I think he will be very good and obviously since he is a catcher that will be awesome, but am just not sure right now how good his offense will be.

    Tough call...

But i truly believe Wheeler will become an Ace.. not just a #1 pitcher (because Harvey will be a #1). & There is a difference between Ace and #1. (Kershaw is an Ace, Greinke is a #1)

    So I'll choose Wheeler.

    Zack Wheeler
    Matt Harvey
    Travis d'Arnaud

Wheeler will be the number 1 for this team... With Harvey either 2nd or 3rd.

d'Arnaud is having an intresting spring, and he's 24 so he better be up soon. Catchers are hard to judge, risky position because you have to be tough as nails and provide a good bat, thats what makes a complete catcher and TDA has the tools. I forget the post but someone made a really good one.

Matt Harvey. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but is it likely that he will regress this year? I hope not. Question: Can he still be considered a rookie this year or no?

I know Wheeler has the better raw stuff of the two between him and Harvey and there are questions about D'Arnauds health and potential ceiling but there are a lot of obvious reasons to love all 3.

It makes it a really hard call.

Speaking of blocking the plate and catchers lol...

As for Harvey, its hard not to expect some regression out of him. I would say he probably shoots for a 3-3.50 ERA this year.

That's fine as long as he continues to progress and no he is not considered a rookie anymore because he went over the 50 inning mark last year.

Picking between Harvey and Wheeler is tough. So 1/2 or 2/1 and then d'Arnaud.
