    Lions off season recap

Unlike in 2012, the Detroit Lions have been one of the most active teams in NFL free agency this year. They not only have re-signed several of their own free agents, but they've added a few noteworthy free agents from other teams as well. They've also had a player retire, adding to the craziness of free agency. To say the least, things have been hectic since free agency opened last Tuesday.

With things starting to quiet down quite a bit, now is a good time to take a snapshot of what has occurred so far. Here's a rundown of the moves the Lions have made:

Re-signed the following unrestricted free agents:

WR Kassim Osgood - One-year deal
OT Corey Hilliard - Two-year deal worth $2.53 million
OG Dylan Gandy - One-year deal
LB DeAndre Levy - Three-year deal worth $9.75 million
CB Chris Houston - Five-year deal worth $25 million
    S Louis Delmas - Two-year deal worth $9.465 million
LS Don Muhlbach - One-year deal worth $905,000

Re-signed the following restricted free agent:

    S Amari Spievey - One-year deal worth $630,000

    Signed the following free agents:

RB Reggie Bush - Four-year deal worth $16 million
DE Jason Jones - Three-year deal worth $9.5 million
    S Glover Quin - Five-year deal worth $23.5 million

Tendered contracts to the following restricted free agents:

OT Jason Fox - Original-round level (one-year deal worth $1.323 million)
DE Willie Young - Second-round level (one-year deal worth $2.023 million)

Tendered contracts to the following exclusive-rights free agents:

RB Joique Bell - One-year deal worth $630,000
FB Shaun Chapas - One-year deal worth $555,000
WR Kris Durham - One-year deal worth $555,000
    S Ricardo Silva - One-year deal worth $555,000

    Other news:

OT Jeff Backus announced retirement from NFL after 12 seasons
OT Gosder Cherilus signed with Colts (five-year deal worth $34.5 million)
DE Cliff Avril signed with Seahawks (two-year deal worth $15 million)
DT Sammie Hill signed with Titans (three-year deal worth $11.4 million)
CB Drayton Florence signed with Panthers (one-year deal)

So far. There still is some time before the draft to fill in holes with either retaining Lo-Jack and Durant or signing someone cheap.

Yeah, what an *******. He should have refused the extra $ and the chance to add good teammates. What a selfish prick.

Even though they are working on a new contract for Stafford I think we can still cash out some of his money this year and create space without too much effort. They would rather redo the whole thing but if they have to they can make room. The advanced money would go against the future cap, hence the preference to have a new contract in place. I wish the money would have been used on Michael Bennett but they still could use it on a corner. This could get us Nnamdi or someone like that. If we can get a LT in the draft I would love to see two more veteran corners brought in. Nnamdi and Antoine Winfield would be awesome.

I would like us getting namdi. I can't imagine him costing much either with how horrible he played last year. I know a lot of people blame the scheme for that, but it should still lower his price tag.

Would you guys be set at DE with Jones, LoJack (resign), Osi (sign) and a second/third round pick?

I would be cool with that if we could get Okafor or Carradine
