    Jets Re-Sign PK Nick Folk

    Rich Cimini @RichCimini

The Jets announce the re-signing of PK Nick Folk -- a free agent who stayed. #Jets

Folk played for the veteran’s minimum last year, so it will be interesting to see whether he got any kind of pay bump.

I thought he would not be back. Really thought he'd get an offer from some other team that the Jets wouldn't match.

    Thoughts?

He was really good the first half of the season, then his performance dipped, alot of blocks and misses. We need to be cheap, and he isn't as bad as people make him out to be. Goodluck to Folk for the 2013-14 season.

Folk does that every year though. Starts out making everything, and hits 60% of his FG's in the second half.

Dont mind the signing, they tried to bring in cheap competition for him (kickalicious) and didnt go so well i assume. Blocks really screwed his percentage up, wasnt there a block like three games in a row lol?

    True.

I think he had a better year than people give him credit.

Good signing. As stated above, some of the misses werent hos fault cos he had people on top of him blocking kicks.

Ive been happy with Nick Folk these past few years and im happy we've kept him. As long as my Kicker gives me a CHANCE at a 55+ im happy. (and strong overal percentage obvisouly) And Folk gives us that chance. I hope Rex trusts him a bit more in the future to take some bombs before the half. Thats one thing I hate about Rex. Has had no trust in his kickers. Hopefully bringing back Nick shows his trust in him moving forward.

Is there still no word on how much he'll be making?

I like the signing. His contract is for 1 year, but the details haven't been made public yet.

78% good last year, and he's got the leg to kick a 50+ yarder.

I hope he can do better with his KOs. He had 6 touch backs (TB) against the Bills in last year's opener, but by the end of the season, he was getting a lot of kicks run back. Sometimes we get them inside the twenty, but I'd rather have a guaranteed TB and the opposition starting on the 20. He isn't a "kick out of the end zone" kind of kicker, which is the only thing I don't like about him.

He has said that he's getting better every year - I hope so.

    GO JETS!!!

I was going to write the same. His season splits suck.

Brandon Moore ****ed him twice in the last Buffalo game, but one of them went through the uprights after it got tipped.

I honestly don't think he is our kicker week 1. They'll surely bring in some competition... but you have to make the signing to CYA.
