    Our Own Free Agents

    Hey Guys,

Haven't been on in a while. Just wondering your guys opinion on a couple of things.

I have not been able to find Kenny Phillips contract numbers with the Eagles and would be very curious as to what it is.
My question is why didn't the Giants offer a little bit more or even perhaps a two year deal instead?

I feel like a guy like Philips is really good when healthy and my only rationale is that they must really feel he is hurting. He knows our system and would get right back to work within the organization. I was happy when they resigned Aaron Ross because he knows our system and will add depth. I understand maybe he wanted to test the market but a 1 year deal was probably not what he wanted.

Within the same topic Bradshaw is still out there. Why not try to get him back on the team? I understand he is injury prone as well. But having Bradshaw, Brown, and Wilson could be like when we had Ward, Bradshaw and Jacobs. That would also limit Bradshaw's touches and perhaps keep him from getting hurt.

So my ultimate questions is when we are signing guys like Mundy and Connor, why are the Giants not reaching out to our own free agents especially when the market is so bad for some of them right now?

Kenny wanted to leave man. Why overpay a guy that doesnt want to be here and is always injured. He can be replaced time for you to move on man

Who's to say the giants didn't in any of these situations.

KP - They know about his knees and that they have 2 solid safeties, so why pay more than another team is willing to? Before the season ended it was pretty much assumed KP wouldn't be back. He wanted to test out the market.

Bradshaw - Cost too much money and needed to be cut. He didn't become a FA, the Giants made him one. He's gonna test the waters and likely bring an offer to the Giants to see if they can play ball. Both Bradshaw and the Giants said he could come back, but it's gonna have to be cheap. Giants are ready to go with WIlson and Brown, so its tough (1) to get Bradshaw cheap and (2) to get him to accept a lessor role. We'll see though.

Others - Giants really wanted Bennett to stay, but he got too much money. They're DESPERATELY trying to keep Boothe to solidify the oline. Blackburn wanted a multi-year deal and cash in. Hixon wants to test the market. Barden says he wants a fresh start. They all have their own situations, but bottom line is the Giants are gonna keep who they can afford to keep.
