    Adrian Wilson Signed

RT @mikejurecki: Adrian Wilson has signed w/ the New England
-Rap sheet. This guy is also followed by John Clayton and Schefter, so it seems legitimate.

Reiss reporting it too now, confirming the source:

Per @mikejurecki, veteran safety Adrian Wilson has reached a contract agreement with the Patriots.

sweet! this is as good of news as if reed signed. We need the veteran leadership in the secondary.

Easily the best signing of the off season thus far IMO

    This makes me happy.
Am I the only one that thinks Lebron is on PED's?

I hope he makes the team, and plays about 40 snaps a game, and gets put on the cover of the Pats Program, enough of the elf like Welker and Woodhead, I want some nasty new faces here...

Now we have a combo of McCourty/A.Wilson...presumably. Maybe they plan on moving McCourty back to CB and using T.Wilson/Gregory in a committee. I'm curious about the Patriots plan for T.Wilson going forward. Doesn't seem like the Pats to draft a player that high just to ride pine or be a special teamer.

Either way great first step to helping the secondary, now for the love of god sign an above average CB.

Wilson/Gregory/Wilson isn't strong enough, they'd need to sign or draft a pretty "ace" S to go with them if they move McCourty back.
Wilson played last year, S takes a lot of brains to play on NEP, I wouldn't take his amount of snaps as a big hit on him as a player. Now, if he doesn't make much progress this year.... it could be a bad sign.

BTW, A. Wilson isn't going to be on the field as much as the starting FS IMO, he really is more of a role player at this point.

That would work out with McCourty and a Wilson combo. I'm not too concerned about T.Wilson at this point, he has shown he can contribute. I am more concerned about this year being Dowling's last shot.

Yeup. Dowling step up, or step out.

Patriots agreed to terms with SS Adrian Wilson, formerly of the Cardinals, on a three-year contract.

Wilson was one of many veterans the Patriots hosted for a Friday visit. After grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 2 safety in 2011, Wilson fell all the way to No. 59 in 2012 while being benched from Arizona's nickel defense midway through the season. 33-year-old Wilson is an in-the-box safety who will likely play early downs before being replaced by some combination of Steve Gregory and Tavon Wilson in passing situations. Wilson will probably be hailed as Bill Belichick's "next Rodney Harrison," but it's highly, highly unlikely he'll have 50 percent of that kind of impact.

    Adrian Wilson signed

What are some thoughts regarding the signing of Wilson? Patriots fans we can only hope it turns out similar to the Rodney Harrison signing.

Interesting he was the #2 rated safety in 2011. He had some great coverage numbers in 2011 as well

Great sign, wondering the terms of the 3 year deal
Five rounds went by in the 2000 draft... After 198 other players had been chosen, the Patriots drafted him in the sixth round.
Owner Robert Kraft recalls the night he was leaving the old Foxboro Stadium when he saw "this skinny beanpole" carrying a pizza. "He comes up and says, 'Mr. Kraft, I'm Tom Brady.' I said, 'I know who you are, you're our sixth-round draft choice from Michigan.' "And he looked me right in the eye and he said, 'and I'm the best decision this organization has ever made.' "
