@AdamSchefter: Vikings are giving Greg Jennings a five-year deal.

Didn't see that coming. Probably over paid for him but I like it. We needed a guy like him.

Greg Jennings - WR - Vikings

Vikings agreed to terms with Greg Jennings, formerly of the Packers.
Minnesota put the full-court press on Jennings on Thursday night by bringing in coach Leslie Frazier and star RE Jared Allen to dinner. It must have worked, and the money must have been right. After trading away Percy Harvin earlier in the week, GM Rick Spielman badly needed to find someone to replace his production. Jennings, 29, can play the slot, but he also isn't limited to it. The way the receiver corps looks now, we'd expect Jennings and Jerome Simpson to play on the outside with Jarius Wright in the slot. Jennings' signing is a good get for Christian Ponder and his development.

Probably closer to $40m, I'm guessing.

I'm going to assume we over paid so I'll guess something like 5 years 45 million. Market supposedly was 7-8 million average so I'll assume we gave him 9.

the new saying in sports should now be "if you can't beat them, sign all of their ex players"

Well the good thing is we've had pretty good luck with Packer players. Most of our moves have involved guys said to be out of their prime but Jennings should still be in his prime for at least the next 3 years so one would believe we'll have some luck here. 1st Rd pick should still be a WR so I'm excited that we got Jennings even though we probably over paid.

I think his market was right at 7 million after the way signings have went. And he'd take less for more years probably.

Exactly lol If Jennings can be anywhere near as good as Favre, Longwell, or Sharper was for us I'll be very satisfied.

Also the Vikings will be having a press conference at 7:15 local time (8:15 ET) so we should find out the #'s around then.
