Sanders to sign offer sheet with Patriots?

Guess AB the last guy standing ! #SteelersNation

Well, if you read Antonio Brown's last tweet it certainly sounds like Emmanuel Sanders is about to sign a offer sheet with #Patriots

This would be a good move. He's got big time potential here IMO. I'd take signing him and giving up the 3rd rounder over DA's contract to be honest.

I'd be 100% fine with giving up a 3rd rounder for him. Pittsburgh is in a **** cap situation, so it's very likely they won't/can't match.

Definitely be an outside the numbers kind of role on the team. Wonder if Pats would still keep Lloyd and restructure his contract as its been reported.

Sanders to sign offer sheet with Patriots?

I like the versatility of the receivers they're pursuing.

How about this one? Get Sanders.

Get Lloyd to renegotiate a deal, then deal him for a.... 3rd

    I'd just keep Amendola/Sanders/Lloyd/Jones/Slater

Belichick does have the Raiders on speed dial.

Lloyd's contract is pretty team friendly already so I can't see much happening in the restructuring process other than him dropping his 3 mil bonus due tomorrow. Seems like a small price to pay for a sure handed receiver that can work the whole field.

However if they can somehow swing Lloyd for a 3rd and replace the pick we'd lose if we signed Sanders than I'd be more than happy with that deal.

A good 2nd WR on a cheap deal (say he gets extended a year to make the $3M go away) is a valuable thing in the NFL. Maybe he gets a high 4th for the Pats, then we deal that pick to the Browns along with Mallett to get the Browns 2nd and 5th, and we score Sanders as well.... Seems decent.

Amendola's contract isn't that bad as far as cap hits. Its only a 3.5M hit this year, and it goes up 1M every year. I doubt he will be around for the remainder 2 years when his salary spikes up to 6.5M.

I'm just not a big fan of DA's game. Add on that he's an injury risk and I'd rather have not signed him. I'd rather of maybe taken 2 of his 3.5 and add that to what they gave Arrington so they could have signed a better CB instead. Then sign a cheaper WR with the rest. There will be cuts at WR later - most likely veterans. I just don't see huge value in DA's skill set. I want to move away from slot receivers. Get outside guys that can be effective in the slot in situations - use Hernandez there most of the other times.

I must repeat, I don't believe DA is going to be 100% slot, in fact I think he'll be a wide > 50% of the time (basically when AH is off the field is when he'll be in the slot).
In your plan we have no slot CB.

At the end of 53 man cut down I'm quite sure the Pats cuts will be the most picked up in the league - again.
