They obviously like something they see in Holzer. I mean he's not bad. He's not great either. Dime a dozen 6/7/8 D man. Him or Kostko were the obvious choices to sit. Could use Liles speed on the backend. He needs a few games to build some value for the deadline.

Scrivens in nets tonight too I'm pretty sure.

Reimer fought the puck big time in his last game against the Pens...I watched the game on the Pens feed and the announcer said the Pens game plan was to shoot high glove on Reimer and crash the net for a rebound. He couldn't catch a cold that night.

You can see great potential for Holzer to be a solid #4 shut-down guy. His size and skating are pretty good he just isn't all that physical. I think Carlyle is hoping to bring it out of him. Either way i think they took the right guy out.

I don't expect much this game, Crosby is going to mess us up.

I've noticed a few games this year he's fought the puck awfully hard. There's also games where he's been lights out. Hopefully the consistancy comes so we don't have to peddle away assets to upgrade in goal. Good chance we may have to eventually tho.

Bang on with Holzer and being physical. They asked him about it last week and I think he said something about himself giving players too much respect. Hopefully he can get a little more cranky like you said.

Yea IIRC it was about giving Crosby too much respect but imo last game at the Jets he gave guys WAY too much space to move. That Kane goal was a pretty bad play by him

We can't give Crosby much respect tonight. He's been a freak of a nature.

Minor news (didn't know where to put it) - Leafs acquire defenceman Kevin Marshall from the Capitals.

Dave Nonis, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the hockey club has acquired defenceman Kevin Marshall from the Washington Capitals in exchange for forward Nicolas Deschamps (day-SHAWMP). Marshall will be assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Marshall, 24, played in 52 games with the AHL’s Hershey Bears this season, registering a goal and four assists for five points with 77 penalty minutes and a plus-five (+5) rating. The 6-1,

201-pound native of Boucherville, Quebec, was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2007 Entry Draft. Marshall has played 10 career NHL games, all with the Flyers in 2011-12, posting eight penalty minutes.

Oh boy your in for a treat with Scrivens in tonight... Guy is so jittery, probably fall over if he see's Crosby and Kunitz coming at him.. I'm going to say he lets out a ton of rebounds, and falls behind the net again leading to an easy goal.

    Reimer is playing like crap.

I hate when he was scored on in the shootout last time against the Pens when Neal went five hole he looked between his legs as if something was wrong with his pads lol you let the puck in idiot it's your fault.

    He just frustrates me.

We can't do what we did last year again. Boys have to push hard down the home stretch. You'll see who has character now.
