    Terence Newman visiting Oakland today

Per Vic Tafur via twitter. Sorry im on my phone so i cant post the link...34 year old Newman CB has been released by the Bengals.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...iting-raiders/

He had 75 tackles last year with 2 ints in 15 games & is rated as the #19 best player at his position.

I honestly don't mind our secondary being patched up by Vet FA's while we build our trenches through the draft. Bring on the one year low risk high reward deals Reggie...

Note* This is prediction based, not necessarily who I want in the first round.

Terence Newman is a ten year vet with great speed and good coverage skills. He's not the best, but he is not bad. We need to fill some roster positions and we can't do any worse than what we fielded last season.

34, does he want a coaching job?? One year deal to help the young guys along. His numbers are solid, not injury prone. keep the oxygen close.

Hey, Darrell Green play till he was 42, In fact he ran a 4.43 on his 50th birthday, maybe he's available to!!

Also DT Corey Williams has left Oakland without an offer & Nick Roach continues talks with Oakland today after having dinner with some of the Raiders brass last night. Also per Vic Tafur via Twitter...

Free agent CB Terence Newman will visit the Raiders Thursday.
The Raiders continue their trend of showing interest in free agents no one else is after. Newman did grade out well as part of the Bengals' No. 9 pass defense in 2012, but will be 35 in September. Expect a short-term deal if the Raiders pounce.

SMH, I've stuck by Reggie and right now I am wondering why. Signing old over the hill players is not how you rebuild.

Id take Newmann. Draft a CB also. Newmann is a vet who still has some left in the tank
and can lead our young CB's
