LB Dan Connor visiting the Raiders

    Geoff Mosher‏ @GeoffMosherCSN
Dan Connor headed to Oakland. Left Pitt without a contract.

Started 8 games for the Cowboys last year.

Penn State LB. I remember wanting him out of college really bad. He did a pretty good job starting for the Cowboys last year. If he's signed, I'd be pretty happy about his chances to have an impact in Oakland.

Really like this guy. He's a hard nosed linebacker and would fit in with Burris real well.

Last year's stats for the 2 LBs we are meeting with (I like Roach more to be honest):

    Nick Roach - started 14 Games / 66 Tackles / 1.5 sacks / 1 FF / 4 PDef

    Dan Connor - started 8 Games / 56 Tackles / 0 sacks / 0 FF / 1 PDef

Connor seemed to be almost as productive as Roach in 6 less games. However, stats don't tel the whole story. It'd be nice if we could have both lol

Connor is better, if he can stay healthy. IMHO

Isn't Connor a 3-4 LB? Maybe we will get both and go 3-4.

Looks more and more like we might be moving to a 3-4 D.

Maybe go after Victor Butler in FA instead of using 2 draft picks, since we still need another 3-4 DE (Floyd) and some corners.

    Victor Butler/Miles Burris/Dan Connor/Nick Roach
    ......Sharrif Floyd/Pat Sims/Lamarr Houston

    Or

    Sean Porter/Miles Burris/Dan Connor/Nick Roach
    Star/Sims/Houston

Actually, there's a lot of option for that other OLB in a 3-4.

    Connor Barwin
    James Harrison
    Shaun Phillips
    Thomas Howard?

yeah just used Victor Butler as an example (still young too). FA can still give us that OLB and save the draft for DL and corner.

Although he played in a 3-4 with the Cowboys, I'd assume it wouldn't be that big a deal to be a 4-3 Mike. The switch to a 3-4 sounds intriguing though. Either way, I'm sure he'd be a cheap upgrade over McClain.
