    Jaguars sign Geno Hayes

2:48 PM: Jaguars have signed LB Geno Hayes according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com, making it their first official signing. The deal is for four years.
I have heard multiple reviews on this guy, but I love it. Gus Bradley coaches him in Tampa a few years ago and he's only 25. Wonder how much a year.

So sick of listening to you man, haven't seen you say one positive thing.

Bradley and Babich have both been with him, I don't think they'd sign him if they didn't think he was a fit.

I like this signing. He wasn't amazing in Tampa Bay, but he did have some good moments there. Maybe this defense will be able to get more out of his ability. If not, he's a decent backup.

there is No need to go sign him unless its strictly a Backup Deal. Stanford-Poz-Allen is decent and i dont see Geno being better than Stanford. better be dirt cheap.

Bradley isnt making the call on who to sign. sure he has some input in who hed like but i dont see why we need to go sign a LB who cant play the run and is smaller than even our previous Backup RB Jennings.....

Bradley isn't the one who signs people, no. But before FA began I'm willing to bet you they made a list, Bradley and Caldwell, of people who will fit the schemes there planning on using. You really think Caldwell would sign a guy that doesn't fit Bradley's defense?

Also, what's Bobby Wagner's size for Seattle?

the only Position i might trust him is Weakside LB but i dont trust his size and somewhat lack of durability and Tackling efficiency

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...y-linebackers/
he ranks 2nd to last in Tackling efficiency and missed 38 tackles in 2563 snaps. missed 38 tackles out of 274 or 13.9% of his Attempted tackles. seems pretty awful to me

Wagner is 6 foot 240. i dont see any Positives in the signing other than Genos speed.

I'm going to trust Caldwell and Bradley until they do something that shows I shouldn't. They want competition and they wanted young players, Hayes brings that.

Yeah, I see Geno is a little bit lighter than I thought. Regardless, this signing makes sense. It's a low risk high reward. Geno his first 2 years in Tampa was pretty damn solid, had a couple rough years in Chicago but he had no chance to really play with that LB corps in Chicago. He'll be able to at least compete and have a chance at the starting gig here, even if we draft a LB.

We want a fast defense, this reinforces that statement. Let it play out, the likelyhood of us giving him much is unlikely lol.

The Jaguars signed Bears free agent linebacker Geno Hayes to a one-year deal on Wednesday, the team said
    .

only a 1 year deal sounds better than 4 years.......

    lol.

apparently u dont know much about Hayes. he started for 3 years in tampa and was benched for Heyward(their SLB switched to WLB and Heyward moved into SLB). he then left Last year because the Bucs didnt want him and the Bears signed him in april to be a backup LB seeing the fit in the tampa 2. he then started at SLB when urlacher went on ir to replace Roach(moved to ILB) and apparently didnt do much to impress there from wat i see stat wise.

It would make more sense at least...considering he hasn't proved anything the last couple years to get a long term deal, not sure which to believe.

Regardless, happy we are making moves. Hayes helps the depth our depth at LB.

This continues to show that we are probably not releasing info to show who or if we are meeting players. Never heard anything about us wanting Fletcher, didn't hear about this til he signed too.

    PFF Grades:

    2009: 9.3
    2010: 5.0
    2011: -15.6
    2012: .08 (only 141 snaps)

Looks to me like he played alright in Tampa compared to Chicago?
