I don't think we will top 74 wins

This year team is no better than last year. Maybe our pitching is more fine tune than last year but I see the outfield and that is a joke and something should be done. Many of the starters we will have on opening day in the outfield would not make most major league teams.

It won't be very long before the pitching staff won't have that desire and for most part will just go through the motions of just pitching, because they know no matter how good they pitch, they are not going to win. Harvey pitched great last year with a ERA of 2.73 was 3-5.

Maybe they should of given up the 11 pick in the draft to just save face for this year and show these young pitchers that they care about given them run support.

Another year of maybe next year for me. oh well

    First off welcome aboard.

The outfield will be better than last year. But then again that's like preferring dog poop to elephant poop because there is less of it.

The starting rotation is weaker than last year now, but with Niese, Gee and Harvey maturing and Wheeler being brought up by mid season, I think it might become a wash.

The catching position is where the biggest improvement will come from. Our catchers were dreadful last year, with Buck and later on with d'Arnaud it could become a strength of the team.

The team is in a rebuilding mode, losing the 11th pick would have been detrimental.

I think this is still a 74 win team.

    This..

I wouldn't be surprised to see modest improvements out of Ike, Murphy, and Tejada this year either.

Marcum is a nice cog and i think the bullpen should be better which should translate roughly to the same amount of wins or so.

Yes, you like to point out other people's mistakes, but when you get called out for your own, you use language that would make a long shoremen blush.

No. When pitchers step on the mound, even if they have given up on the team per se, there is personal pride and future paychecks at stake. Pitchers know, nowadays, that they aren't paid for wins when their other stats are much more descriptive of how well they performed.

Welcome to the Forum. I agree with the notion that these Met's won't win 74 games. But I'm Happy we kept our draft picks. We have a lot of young talent coming up and I plan to spend this season checking them out. This Offseason is going ot be big for us. Until then I'll be doing Franchise Mode on MLB 2k13
