    Wow, Boesch cut!!

The Tigers cut Brennan Boesch today and saved $1.9M dollars. I guess DD couldn't find a taker for him. He, at one time, was one of my favorite Tigers. I wish him luck and I've got one word for him......Padres. Go back to San Diego they need hitters. I think he'll turn it around and be an average MLB player.

Well this came out of the blue. Good luck where ever you go. I will miss Boesch's sweet swing just not inability to make contact.

Not really any Wow Factor here. Boesch was a non-factor again this spring. An early cut allows him time to catch-on with another team this spring. It just won't happen in the next 48 hrs.

One of your favorite players? What aspect of Brennan Boesch's game is appealing? The guy cant hit for contact, draws no walks, has virtually no range in the outfield, and is a non factor on the basepaths.

The only two things going for him are a strong arm and decent raw power, but his power is severely limited by his lack of ability at the plate. The dudes a bum and I am glad to see him go.

I wouldn't say he was a non factor on the basepaths, he had great speed for a big guy, Leyland just doesn't like to utilize speed and seems to prefer leaving everything up to the mashers.

    I agree with everything else.

Yeah he wasn't the best ball player but none of us have any right to discredit who a guy's favorite player is. Some people root for michigan state even though they have no quarterback, their recruiting is awful, and their defense is in shambles, but we can't go up to them and say they have no desirable qualities as a team therefore they shouldn't be a fan of them anymore. I cheered for brennan and it sucks that he never got it together. Wish all the best to him moving forward.

Came to the tigers forum to see if anything interesting happened... And damn! He had so much potential. The guy had a great year or so and then it was all downhill. Hope it works out for him somewhere.

Exactly...there wasn't a team in baseball that thought he was worth 2.3M

I remember he had a great first half his 1st season and I think his 2nd season was the same. He showed promise but he was never consistent.

Might hit 30 in the Bronx for 81 pre-game batting practices.
