Spears: Raptors to pursue Carl Landry in the off-season

The Toronto Raptors are expected to pursue Carl Landry this offseason if he opts out of his contract with the Golden State Warriors, according to a source.

The Raptors will seek a veteran power forward this summer.

Amir Johnson has had a breakout season for Toronto at the power forward position and are also looking for a resolution to the Andrea Bargnani situation.

A bit undersized, but he would be a solid pick-up.

He's shown to be a pretty good player when given minutes. Wouldn't be mad at this acquisition. This seems like a plan B or C to me though. I don't think the Raps are going to sign Landry and expect him to start over Amir.

That day will be remembered by many Raptor fans, and should be celebrated every year.

Landry seems to be best suited for a role off the bench, but a 3 big rotation of Jonas, Amir and Landry is above-average league wide.

Speaking of Bargs, he could be done for the year. We may have seen the last of Bargnani in a Raptors uniform, but don't hold your breath.

The thing is. The Raptors shouldn't have to look for moneyball type players. We are a big market, and we should spend like one. That being said, I would love Carl Landry on this team.

Carl Landry is mad underrated. He'd be a good pickup. Hes a good solid post scorer which is what we are probably lacking the most right now (until Val develops that part of his game more)

    I agree with gwrighter.

Don't mind the idea at all, but should be plan B or C.

Would love to pick him up, had him on my fantasy team until recently as Bogut came back and he dropped from ~26 mins a game to ~10. His production when given the time is fantastic.
