Rams no longer interested in WR Victor Cruz

I was gonna talk about this elsewhere but I feel like it would be a discussion worthy thread. Who wants him? Who doesn't? Personally I don't want to give up the first round pick for him because of the tender. I'd rather get no one or overpay Danny to come back.

On SportsCenter Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter mentioned the Rams and Vikings as "the two teams that would be poised" to make restricted free agent Victor Cruz an offer sheet.

Schefter acknowledged, however, that the Rams "don't sound particularly interested." He was more optimistic about the Vikings, but they are "expected to make contact with Greg Jennings" in unrestricted free agency before tapping into the RFA market. The Vikings are also "perhaps" expected to talk to Danny Amendola. "In an ideal world," Schefter said, neither St. Louis nor Minnesota would surrender the first-round pick and large contract it would take to land Cruz.
    For reference

I might be willing to do it, actually. Get Sammy some legit proven weapons instead of more hopefuls. Though I don't think it'll happen.

I don't either, I find it hard to believe they'd go through all that work to get the picks and just let them go. Do we think Cruz is legit or overrated?

I don't know, I probably overrate him... but compared to what we've had in recent years it's hard not to

Ya I guess that's true. So you'd be willing to do it but let me just ask this, would you prefer him to Jennings with no 1st rounder though he may not be as talented or as opposed to re-signing Danny?

With Jennings going on 30 and his injury history I'm not sure if I'd be as inclined to spend the big bucks on him. Prior to the Cook signing I would've probably preferred to just bring back Danny the most. But now that Cook will probably be manning a lot of the slot scenarios, I think a good "stud-ish" guy out wide would be a perfect compliment.

Cutting through all my bs I'd like to have any of them lol

i personally think cruz is a #1 receiver and worth the 1st rounder. we got those picks to become a better team, well if we can get one of the best receivers in the league by giving up one of our 1st rounders then im all for it because it makes us a BETTER team

I'd give up a pick for Cruz. We'd have to give up the 16th pick to get him though, that's iffy for me. If it was the 22nd, I'd do it without a doubt. But the 16th is more iffy.

Nope. It has to be your own, original pick. Or if you no longer have your original pick, the highest first rounder (assuming we still have one).

That said, no thanks. 10+ million and the 16th pick for a slot receiver (who I personally consider a system receiver)? Nah.

The only way I'd consider it is if we fail to sign Long, Delmas or any other big names, Danny is gone, Jennings gone... so then basically we have no other options, money to spare, and it would be like drafting him. Other than that, I wouldn't want him as my first choice

Except we'd be paying him a **** ton more money. I don't want him at all for the type of money it'd take to sign him (in addition to the draft pick, but that's not really the part that irks me, it just adds to it). If we can't sign anyone else, I'd rather draft one of Allen, Hunter, or Patterson.

Personally, though, I think we'll just sign some low risk, potentially high reward receivers and maybe draft one in the mid-to-late rounds.
