Raptors To Increase Ticket Prices Next Season

    Link: http://www.thestar.com/sports/raptor...xt_season.html

Up by 2.5% across the board. Not that big a deal seeing as thats like $2.50 for a $100 ticket but whatever

    Not surprising.

MLSE will just continue to gouge the TO faithful while putting a sub-par product on the court.

Its only 2.5%, as long as they continue to spend over the cap, I am fine with it.

Unreal. The team hasn’t made the playoffs in 5 years and yet they are going to increase the ticket prices. It is not like they have acquired some major pieces (like the Jays) and have some huge hope for next season. The team still has so many uncertainties and yet, the management wants to more money from the fans for a substandard product

It's the principle behind it though.

2.5% ISN'T much, but when year after year we're perennial basement-dwellers, it's hard to justify any type of increase.

As I said, its only 2.5%. The Raptors took on salary with the Rudy Gay trade, they are roughly 6.5 million over the cap. Whether you want to believe it or not, we are a better team since the trade, we are around .500 with Rudy. The team started to play badly the more Bargnani got involved since coming back from his injury. I don't expect Bargnani to be on the roster next season, and I expect this team to have a much better record next season.

The salary could possibly go up more next season, so I can understand why they are raising ticket sales.

Do you think we will be a basement dweller next season?

Knowing our luck as a franchise and how cursed we've been...

I agree, but, if you expect them to spend more, then expect ticket sales to go up.

I'd rather the team spending with the result of higher ticket sales, then the team being cheap with lower ticket prices.

Me too, but I live near Vancouver lol. Seriously though, it's not a huge increase but it hurts more cause the team stinks. I just look at track record, and for the amount of high draft picks for this team they have missed over and over and management stinks. Ownership has shown that they have no clue what they are doing in evaluating managment. I am not a die hard but I'm def not a bandwagon fan. I'm finding I'm becoming indifferent now though. I watch whatever game is on now instead of seeki g out the raps.

Is a 2.5% increase worth being even competative? I think yes.

    Makes sense.

You guys asks them to try to improve. The only way to do that is to spend more money.
