    Derek Lee

Saw Yankees discussing Derek Lee, who last played for Pirates in 2011. The guy was good in his time and maybe a minor league deal but is he ready to go, doubt it. Just saying, with the way this operation is going this year and the older players, injuries etc. we are considering another oldster.
Hey then, Jorge is available, or better yet maybe our catching icon, Yogi would consider a comeback. Come on Cash and Hank let's get serious!

I saw this too and I'm not in love with the idea. I would much rather see the young guys in the system get a shot. Some of them are having very good springs.
If we had a young team that needed some leadership and brought him in to fill a hole, I'd think it was a good idea.

With that said, he had a good year offensively with the Pirates a couple years ago and he was a gold glove 1b.
    For a small deal...meh.
Unless Tex is down for longer than they think, which is always a possibility, I'm on the fence. I personally am not a huge fan of the idea but I didn't love the Ibanez deal either and that worked out quite well.

Why not trade a couple prospects to the Marlins for Casey Kotchman?

I don't bother anybody on here...I admit I am bi polar with regards to the Yankees...I am never satisfied..I want 162-0! Of course we will fall a little short but blame George for the way I am...I was spoiled in the 70s and expected to win every season...

Just think, I started as a Yankee fan in 1976,,,by age 13 the Yankees were already in 4 World Series and won the AL East 5 Times......that is all I knew at the time.....Most of you have just 5 rings, I have Jeter beat, I have 7 rings!
