    Our core is solid...

Well, this season certainly isn't going as I thought it would. I truly believed we would be much improved. But after watching the game against the Mavericks, it hit me that our CORE is actually quite promising. I believe that Brandon Knight will blossom at the shooting guard position. I can really see him as a 20 pt/night scorer in this league. The more reps he gets at that position, the more comfortable he becomes and better he will be. He plays with energy and can D-up. I really like Jose Calderon at the point. He's solid all the way around. The guy can certainly pass, shoots 50% from 3pt land, understands the flow of the game and can play defense. Despite what some have said, Greg Monroe has not hit his ceiling. He will develop a consistent mid-range shot and become even more sound on the defensive end. He will be an All-Star power forward in this league. A healthy Andre Drummond has un-tapped potential. He is one of the best rookies in the league and will settle in beautifully as our starting center. I'm not sold on Kyle Singler as a starter, but he shows glimpses, and remember, he's only a rookie. If anything, he will be a very productive bench player. Kris Middleton looked great against the Mavs. I think he could eventually become a starter with some more time. Jonas Jerebco could be a great guy off the bench for years to come. Remember, because of injury, he's really only in his 2nd year. Even Slava Kravtsov has shown he could be a good back-up center to Drummond in a couple years. Throw in a young Kim English and this team truly has a bright future and a solid core. I think we need a scoring small forward and a back-up point guard, and in a few years, we could be a top team in the East....

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Middleton could be that scoring SF someday, if given a chance

You can say things like that about every team right now.We need a big time consistant scorer.Drummond is the future of this team but we need that Scorer every night.

Out of all those guys you named...the only one that makes me think "We may actually have something here" is Andre Drummond. The other guys are good-decent, but nothing that really standout in today's NBA.

I really hate these threads because it just brings out the anxious fans who expect rookies and sophomores to be the next Kevin Durant or LeBron James. Players develop and I agree with the OP, we have a nice young core that can develop nicely, if they do. But the position we are in is a good position with a young core and a lot of cap this off-season.

It all depends on how Dre turns out.

We can solve this whole go to scorer if we draft Burke.

If we don't resign Calderon, I'm all for drafting Burke, but I'd rather have a 2 or 3 like Porter or Oladipo.

Yep. He's the only superstar potential we have. Knight and Moose could be solid secondary options but we need another stud to go with Drum (not necessarily a big but another stud playmaker)

Calderon is better than Burke. Burke won't make a difference to this team

We can't let Knight play at the 2

You just said you hate this thread, yet practically agreed with me to a T. All I was saying when I wrote this thread were my sentiments while watching the Mavs game. Which were "we have a nice young core here." I never said anything about the next Durant or Lebron. If some idiot comes on here and thinks that, that's on him.

For those who said that Drummond is the "only potential star" on this team. You may be correct. But I never sais the team was full of stars. I just said they were solid. I do think BK could be an all-star someday, as could Moose. And whoever said Knight can't play the two is crazy! It's so funny how all I hear is "Trey Burke" and "Oladipo." I agree Burke would be a nice player if Jose doesn't stick around, but he's not that scorer we're looking for. I think we need a SF who can light it up. Not a PG, when we already have basically four on our roster (Jose, BK, Will and Stuckey). I'm not ready to invest a high pick in, yet, another PG. I want a SF who can score big time! Now Oladipo would make me happy as an IU grad. I would have a jersey to buy.

I hate them because of the posters it brings out. Read what I wrote. Most of the "idiots" are anxious fans who are not used to this rebuilding portion and just want to see the team win.

I agree, the team should have a good future. We just need to draft a go to scorer this year.
    Favourite Teams:

    Boston Red Sox: 27-17
Indianapolis Colts: Decent draft, no new wide reciever though.
Detroit Pistons: Looking forward to the draft and whoever the new coach will be
Ottawa Senators: Down 2 to 1 to Pittsburgh, Game 4 on Wednesday Night, Game 5 on Friday Night and Game 6 on Sunday Night (If necessary)

    Beautiful:

this piston team still need some work but drummond and monroe is the best ones the future of the team. knight and the rest are somewhat solid but the team still needs more help if they want to win.

Knight has been averaging 20 points over his last 5 games at the 2. I just doesn't even wanna argue with your first part of your post because I just doesn't make sense. BUT I WILL ANYWAY. OBV Caledron right now is better than Burke. DUH. But Burke is CLEARLY a better all around player than Caledron and will cause us to improve.
