    Tommy Kelly Anticipates Release

Tommy Kelly sees 'writing on wall'

    By Bill Williamson | ESPN.com

Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Tommy Kelly told the San Francisco Chronicle he expects to be released by the team. Kelly is his own agent and he told the paper he has not had any contact with the team this offseason.

“The writing is on the wall," Kelly told the paper. "The team is going in another direction. I'm ready for the next chapter. ... They're ready, too."

Quarterback Carson Palmer and receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey may have to take pay cuts to avoid being cut as Oakland tries to get enough cap room to maneuver through the offseason.

    buh bye tommy

    Wow!
If that happens they better have an idea what they're going to do with the defensive line
    There's no one left!

Is that really such a bad thing? The way they played most of the year, it was like nobody was there in the 1st place. Houston, shaughnessy, crawford, bilukidi (who I really like), resign bryant and carter, and if we stay at 3.take Floyd

    DE : Houston, Crawford
    DT : Floyd, Bilukidi
    DT : Bryant
    DE : Shaughnessy, Carter

To me that's a good start. Houston and Bryant are versatile enough to play anywhere on the line. Room for improvement?? Sure. But I wouldn't mind starting with this

well we currently have Houston - Crawford - Blukidi on our Dline and maybe Tollefson until he is cut.

Bryant Shuag and Carter all all free agents.

That is the worst Dline in foootball ladies and gents.

As of right now viewing our active roster this is what we are looking at:

    DT:- Houston, Bilukidi
    DE: - Crawford, Tollefson
    MLB: - Mcclain
    OLB's: - Burris , Keenan Clayton ?
    CB: Huff , Chekwa, Nelms?
    S- Branch
    S - gio - mitchell - ross all FA's

Sooo, we may need to draft a couple defenders - i know i know everyone wants a QB to get picked up rounds 1-3-4- and 5

No QB's. Defense first...especially CB's. We need guys who can at least be in the same zip code as the receiver.

Considering Houston is our best player on defense, I'll be cool with 2. I don't see the comparison though.
