Wang pitched 6 scoreless inning vs Japan in World Baseball Classic

Wang just pitched 6 scoreless inning vs Japan yesterday in World Baseball Classic. 6IP, 67PC, 6H, 0ER, 0R, 1BB, 1SO 0.00ERA. His velocity has gone up to 93.

    He also pitched another 6 scoreless inning vs Australia a few days ago, 6IP, 4H, 0ER, 0R, 0BB, 2SO, 0.00ERA

His sinker is back, velocity is back, control is great. 6 scoreless inning vs Japan in Japan, against Japan all star professional team...very impressive!

Yankees did send scout to observe Wang in WBC...

Any interest? I believe he can be cheap...what is your take to fill in for Hughes?

THose numbers are great, where do you put Nova and Pineda (when he returns)?
I love the idea of him coming back if he's healthy.

A healthy Wang is always good Wang.

We have 2 guys 38+. An injury prone Hughes. Nova and his 5.00 ERA. CC coming off elbow surgery. and only Phelps in reserve.

Adam Warren looked like crap today and doesn't look like he will provide any depth. Doubtful that Pineda will be available.

We need the depth. I say do it.

Wang's pitch count was 61 in 6 inning vs Australia. As you can see, he was very efficient. The reason they take him out is the WBC has a rule that only allow 80 pitch count maximum, and managers trying lower the pitch count to avoid Dice-K effect...

Nothing wrong with holding on to a solid Wang.

If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

I think they are waiting to see how Hughes responds with his back. Although, I'm not sure I'll take that risk. I would still sign Wang

Let's see Wang face a real offense before we start rubbing him down with anointing oil... it was Team Australia...
