    General Manager!

Alright, the Kings have been sold to Burkle and the Fitness guy and you have been hired as the general manager!

    BE REALISTIC

The coach has been fired so who do you replace Keith Smart with?

Who do you target in the draft?

Which free agents do you target?

    Who do you resign?

    What trades do you make?

Next season we have 44 Million guaranteed salary after this season

    REMEMBER Our free agents are:

    Tyreke ROF
    Tony Douglas
    Cole Aldrich
    James Johnson

AND Our expiring contracts will be :

    Coach : John Calipari

Draft Pick: Otto Porter, Finally solidify our SF position with a 6'8 200 pound player who is shooting 44% from deep and averages 7 boards a game

Resign: I'd offer Tyreke a 4 year, 40 Mill contract and hope a team doesn't offer him something ridiculous.
I'd let James Johnson, Tony, and Cole walk

I'd target Chase Buddinger in free agency

I'd give DeMarcus an extension as well as Isaiah Thomas

I would shop Jimmer Fredette, and move Tyreke back to the PG position

    Tyreke/IT
    John Salmons/Marcus Thornton
    Chase Buddinger/ Otto Porter
    Patrick Patterson/Hayes
    DeMarcus Cousins/ Jason Thompson

Coach: I would target Brian Shaw

Draft Pick: Marcus Smart (with some luck)

Free Agents: I would re-sign Reke if possible (5 years/$50); depending on how Aldrich plays I may re-sign him to a small deal, if not Aldrich then another low-cost, back-up center (eg. Ryan Hollins, Nazr Mohammed, Jason Collins)

Trade: Thornton and Hayes for Hedo

    Smart/IT/Jimmer
    Reke/Jimmer/Salmons
    Salmons/Hedo/Outlaw
    JT/Patterson/Outlaw
    Boogie/Aldrich

Salmons and Hedo equal almost $20 million in expiring contracts in 2014. Use the cap money to re-sign Boogie and fill our hole at SF.

Hedo seems like a locker room cancer at this point in this career, and so you've decided to keep Tyreke at the 2, and Salmons at the 3. So no running for any free agents?

The coach has been fired so who do you replace Keith Smart with? Brian Shaw or Bobby Jackson.

Who do you target in the draft? Package the pick with IT or Jimmer and acquire a great SF...

Which free agents do you target? Jarret Jack, Dalembert and Kyle Korver

Who do you resign? Patterson, Tyreke and Aldrich

What trades do you make? Package our pick and one of our PGs to fix SF issue.

    Jack/IT or Jimmer
    Tyreke/Thornton/Korver
SF (SORRY CANT PROVIDE A NAME)/Korver/Salmons
    Patterson/Thompson
    Cousins/Dalembert

I'm sure we can get someone good for our lottery pick..
    My answers in the quote.

Not bad, I don't like the idea of Bobby Jackson as the new head coach, I'd prefer someone who's had success and experience as a head coach, Brain Shaw doesn't sound bad..

I'm not sure which small forwards are on the block that would be worth the value of our Pick with Jimmer or IT..

Dalembert would be nice to have back and same with Tyreke

1st choice is Shaw, i said Bjax mostly due to nostalgia reasons.

If there's no small forward worth trading for, then we should take whoever the best SF is available... Porter?

I mostly want to see some size added to the back court, front court, and more perimeter shooting.

That's why I was a fan of moving Tyreke back to the PG spot, moving John Salmons to his real position at SG, and draft Otto Porter who's 6'8 200 pounds and a %44 3pt shooter this season

    Tyreke
    Salmons
    Porter
    Patterson
    Cousins

With JT being the first big of the bench.

We have nice size in that lineup and a team that can spread the floor.

With new ownership and a new GM, I believe that they will be very aggressive in order to get players that they believe in. I expect the new GM to be very aggressive in dismantling this team. I would expect them to be aggressive, so here's what I would do.

COACH: 1st option: Brian Shaw 2nd option: Patrick Ewing

DRAFT: 1st round: Otto Porter 2nd round: Seth Curry

FREE AGENTS: Brandon Jennings, Wayne Ellington

    RE-SIGN: Tyreke Evans, Cole Aldrich

TRADE: Isaiah Thomas, Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson for Nikola Vucevic, Tobias Harris
    Marcus Thornton for Landry Fields

    Depth:
PG: Brandon Jennings - Fredette - Curry
SG: John Salmons - Fields - Ellington
SF: Otto Porter - Harris - Outlaw
    PF: DeMarcus Cousins -Patterson
    C: Nikola Vuceciv - Hayes - Aldrich

I don't think that this scenario will play out, but I would bet anything that there will be a lot of moves made before next season.

I don't necessarily love the idea of Hedo on the team. I don't think that he's a locker room cancer, but I also don't really think he's an improvement. I do like the fact that Hedo has an expiring contract. I think that the team needs to clear some cap room for next summer. We're going to be a more attractive destination for free agents than we are now and we will have owners who are willing to spend some money.

In order to free up some capspace, Thornton and Hayes are the players that need to go (Outlaw as well, if we can find a way to get rid of his contract). Another, probably better, scenario to create cap space is trading Thornton and Jimmer to Utah for Marvin Williams and Alec Burks. Then either trying to trade Hayes for an expiring contract (although I don't know if another team will take his contract) or amnestying him at the end of next season.

I do believe that Reke should play at the SG. His shot keeps getting better and I think he's better when he's looking to score than when he's trying to run the offense.

I have a trade idea, I have no idea if you guys would even like it or if the other team would. This is what I was thinking.

    We get: Lillard and Batum
Portland gets: Cousins, Salmons, and I.t.

And if I couldn't resign Tyreke for less then 7.5 I don't know if I would keep him around.

    Lillard
    Thornton
    Batum
    Patterson
    J.t

That's a super scoring squad. And a big change that we need. Plus we would not gain any money against the cap to make anyother moves. We would need to sign a back up big like cole. But I'ld take that for 2.9 mill a year or so. And I would send the best player Jimmef to playfor a contender and ask for a all-star 2 in return.

Portland spent about 5 years rinsing themselves of players like Boogie. Theyre not gonna trade the impending ROY and a bonafide superstar for Cousins. and definitely not add in Batum.

As for who I'd like to see coach the Kings...realistically id take Stan Van Gundy

I read that the Lakers may amnesty Gasol in the off-season to avoid the luxury tax. However, we may have almost enough capspace to take on that type of contract. I definitely would not use the space on Gasol, but maybe we can work out a three-way trade. Minnesota reportedly offered Luke Ridnour, Derrick Williams, and Nikola Pekovic for Gasol earlier in the season. We could give the Lakers one of our smaller contracts (IT, Jimmer, Patterson); Gasol could go to Minny; and we can pick up a package of players.

Thompson isn't doing it for you? And hayes? I think we have to keep one. I don't know if j.j. is what I want in a second string. But if it would give us the cap space to get a huge free agent or take on a big contract on a star, I could live with it.
