Padres Listening To Offers For Headley

Did not want to mix this up in the ST thread...

Headley is a stud this basemen under contract until 2014. Padres tried to extend him but they could not come to an agreement. Now, they are looking to trade him.

Do the Yankees: A) Have the right package to acquire him? B) Have the balls to do so?

If answered yes, who would you send over to the Padres for him?

    Go Cash money go!

I had mentioned him when ARod stunk up last year's playoffs....I am not sure what type of package NY could put together but I would have to think they will at least kick the tires?
If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

I would hope they at least do that. I'm thinking Joba should be in the trade talks

I think Wang and Headley are players Cashman should go out and get right now. Especially Wang since he's attainable.

Headley is going to cost us one of our stud OFers in the minors.

I say no....just get The Twins 1st baseman and pay all $14 million and a lower prospect.

We need our farm for next season....

This would be an awesome move. Not only for now, but the future. Not sure we have the pieces. Let, me re-phrase, not sure the Yanks want to part with Mason Williams.

He is a solid player both defensive and offensively. He won't be talked about in any HOF talk, or maybe even All-Star teams (unless that gotta have 1 from that team rule is in play), but he is very solid with some power and a decent average.

He is one of those guys that gives you a good at-bat (like that rat in Boston named Dustin), hard to fully guage his power thought since I always see him playing in the biggest parks in the majors.. Petco, AT&T park, Dodger Stadium, Coors (since the humidor) and Arizona all play big... so power is hard to really guage. I have not looked at his statlines much, just know what I see since I live in one of those cities that is in his division, so I do see him play on occaision.

He would cost a ton prospect wise because he is coming off a career year and isn't a free agent till 2015.

So trading for that extra year of control would be quite expensive from a players in return standpoint.

Well hopefully you can prey on the Padres management like we did on the Twins
