Assuming the Knicks get the 2nd or 3rd seed, it looks like we'd most likely play the Boston Celtics or the Brooklyn Nets.
Interestingly enough, either foe would be a division rival, but facing each team is different and beating them means something different.
Boston Celtics:
Beating the prideful Celtics (a team that swept them a couple years ago) could be a huge boost in confidence. Knowing that they bested what's left of a veteran team, winning some playoff games in the TD garden could give us some much needed toughness.
Brooklyn Nets:
Bragging Rights. What's more ego and energy boosting than Knocking the other team in the your city out of the playoffs. This NBA subway series, would be extremely beneficial to the older players on the team who would not have to travel very far in between games.
