Garnett now 10th on all time rebounds list

    http://espn.go.com/nba/history/leaders/_/stat/rebounds

    1 Wilt Chamberlain 23,924
    2 Bill Russell 21,620
    3 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 17,440
    4 Elvin Hayes 16,279
    5 Moses Malone 16,212
    6 Karl Malone 14,968
    7 Robert Parish 14,715
    8 Nate Thurmond 14,464
    9 Walt Bellamy 14,241
    10 Wes Unseld 13,769
    11 KEVIN GARNETT 13,758
    12 Hakeem Olajuwon 13,748
    13 Shaquille O'Neal 13,099
    14 Buck Williams 13,017
    15 TIM DUNCAN 13,016

KG is 11 behind Wes Unseld. If he gets 12 boards in the next game, he'll be all alone in 10th place. Remarkable achievement. If he plays next season, he'll most likely move into 9th place. 2 more seasons and he can make 8th.

Tim Duncan's in 15th place, 700+ boards behind KG.

It's cool to pass Unseld, but that's what Wes did (and throwing these great 3/4 court outlets while he was still in the air for going for the rebound). Passing Hakeem, that's a big deal to me.

Trading for him is the best move the Celt franchise made since it dealt the #1 pick for Parish and the #3 pick that turned out to be McHale.

    His overall stats are astonishing.

    25,121 points (16th all-time)
    13,758 rebounds (11th all-time)
    5,197 assists
    1,729 steals
    1,963 blocks

    Rarified air.
    Lee / Terry
    Bradley /Crawford / Williams
    Pierce / Green
    Bass / Wilcox / White
    KG / Randolph / Melo

    Injured: Rondo, Sullinger

    Draft wish list: Gorgui Dieng

Unseld did it in less seasons, too, but he was a rebound specialist as you mentioned.

It is very impressive that he passes Hakeem, because The Dream played exactly the same amount of seasons as KG, and the year isn't out yet for KG to build a bigger lead over him. KG crushes Hakeem in assists, too, but Hakeem has a good 1,000+ lead in points.

It's interesting that maybe 30% of the PSD posters that care about the historical NBA have Hakeem as the #1 Center. Probably 80% or more don't even think KG is in the top 20 all time - mostly due to the fact that they hate him, or compare him to the "gentleman" Duncan.

Fact is Duncan, Hakeem and KG all fit into the #8-14 all time bracket, and all three are on my all time team.

Hakeem has 11.1 RPG - and also started his NBA career after college, so he played deep into his decline. KG is just hitting his decline now, and has 10.6 RPG in his career. Hakeem also has 3.1 BPG to 1.5 for KG. But that doesn't really hurt KG IMO anyhow. Plenty of room for both at the top of the mountain.

If you want to use only post-merger guys, KG would be 6th all time in boards. If he plays next season and remains healthy, 15,000 wouldn't be out of the question, which would also put him in the 25k/15k club.

Garnett now 10th on all time rebounds list

If he finishes out his contract with the Celtics he could probably get to the six spot I don't see it getting any higher than that… And if he stays healthy Duncan will stay behind him

say he finishes the season avg 7.8 reb per thats another 172 + plays 2 more years one year avg 7 and the next 6 he would end up at 15,012 not including playoffs.(do playoffs count?) wich would put him in the six spot

if he finishes the season avg 15 pts + next year avg 15 pts then the following 13 pts he would be at 27,801 in the 7 spot 795 below shaq

    27,801 pts(7th all time)
    15,012 reb(6th all time)

if he plays that last year in his contract and avg a little less than 10 pts a game he would pass shaq and be 6th in both

Playoffs dont count towards career totals. Also...KG still has the rest of this year that you didnt factor in. LIke I said....6th all time will be where he finishes for rebounds...if he stays healthy
