Crosby or Stamkos

Crosby vs. Stamkos. Seems to be the new Marquee matchup in the NHL; who would you choose as a franchise player?

Stamkos has been tearing it up since he entered the league and seems to get better every year. However I think I'd still go with Crosby, he just entering the prime of his career and getting back into the form he was prior to his head injuries.

Crosby. Tell me when Stamkos hits 100 points. Then we will have a debate. Also, I love Stamkos as well. But the "anyone vs Crosby" debates are just dumb, Sid is the best player in the league.

Assuming health, the only answer is Crosby.

Ill throw this out there though. Ill take Toews over Stamkos. I'm sure I'll get ripped for that, but there are two ends of the ice.

^^malkin makes a strong case but i agree, stamkos and the others are not close in terms of being the best player in the league. Ovechkin used to have a case but his play has dropped off too much so the debate is essentially between Crosby and Malkin.

As for starting a franchise i would choose crosby over stamkos any day of the week.

I would chose Crosby over anyone else at this point but I disagree that its a dumb argument.
Ovechkin was better then Crosby a few years ago, Malkins had better years also.
Pittsburgh can score without Crosby in the line up. 11-12 Penguins were first in goals scored & Crosby only played 22 games. I wouldn't expect the same in Washington/Tampa without Stamkos or Ovechkin.

being the best and most valueable are different things, if its a best debate its between crosby and malkin. For most valueable to a teams success while those guys are superstars and hold quite a bit value themselves i would look towards a team with only one superstar holding move value in some cases

Crosby easy. I love Stamkos, but I'd take both Malkin and Toews over him when building a team.
