Rasheed Wallace done for the season

    Alan Hahn ‏@alanhahn
#Knicks say Rasheed Wallace had x-rays on his left foot, which showed progression to fractured fifth metatarsal. He will have surgery.
    Alan Hahn ‏@alanhahn
The recovery time for Wallace's surgery is 8 weeks. That puts him back on the court, at the earliest, during first round of the playoffs.
    Yep

Damn... I respect Rasheed for trying! He was so fun to watch out there. And that's why they picked up Martin. They knew he wouldn't be back.

This pisses me off....we coulda had kenyon earlier almost 2 months ago and maybe had some more wins under our belt but nooo because of front office and coaching staff stubboness they wanted to wait for a 38 year old to heal from a pre-existing injury that he shoulda had surgery for 3 years ago!!! There were reports that rasheed was done for the season back in january yet woodson decided he was gonna stick by his guy....i tell you man his stubborness is gonna be the end of us

D'antoni was stubborn. Woodson is loyal. I'm not gonna be one of the fans hating on the guy. Can we sign Amundson?

Sad to hear. Maybe he can be back for the playoffs. Respect him man, hope Martin can contribute now, we should sign him for the rest of the season now.

Good luck trying to bring vet min guys here if Woody told Wallace to peace out after dragging him out of retirement without giving him a chance to rehab. Sucks but it is what it is. Now I just wonder if we drop him for Amundson or hope he can play in the playoffs.

I kept saying we should cut him. Brewer as actually useful. But Woodson's stuberness made us wait this long.

I said it from the start that we should sign kmart instead of Rasheed.
Even if we had cut him a month ago, we would've had a couple of more wins.
Kmart would've been familiar with our system by now and he'd be in the rotation.
Its stupid that we didnt do this sooner.

Right now I wouldnt mind Warrick or Amudson.
Or be creative and take a chance on someone from the D-league.

What are you crying about? The K-mart deal was specifically tied to the trading deadline because the FO wanted to see what big man got cut after all the chips had fallen.

Besides that, in real life things like being loyal and sticking by your guy goes a long way towards earning people's respect. Guys play harder when they know the coach has their back and won't put them to pasture at the first sign of trouble.

I don't expect Sheed to be cut because he's a presence in the locker room that is well respected.

Another one... If they were going to get Kenyon Martin they should have let Sheed go instead of one of the top defenders in the league smh

I agree. Cutting Sheed before his season ending prognosis would have been a black eye for the organization in the eyes of veteran players - who were going to want to attract the next couple years.

We still have more than enough depth with Tyson, KMart, Amare, Kurt, and Camby. I don't really see us signing anyone else.

I personally think its more about keeping things hush hush than not actually knowing whats going on. I think they knew how delicate this recovery was and knew the whole time this type of thing might have happened, they were just sugarcoating it for fans and media to avoid the 'well thats what you get when you sign a bunch of old men' backlash.
