Jeez, why didn't the Jazz make a trade to upgrade the roster?

The Lakers are probably gonna play the Jazz out for that last spot if Utah keeps playing like crap.

I'm really getting tired of Corbin. We were playing well with the inside out game, and in Overtime he stopped calling those plays. We were trying to work from the outside in. Kanter was awesome yesterday and got very limited minutes. Favors should have stayed in until he was fouled out honestly because he was also playing better than Millsap in the 4th. I've been noticing this every time Corbin is playing a good team, seems he's being very out-coached, and it's not the talent side of things, because the bench comes in, plays well, still plays well when the other team is using their starters. Then Corbin puts in the starters and nothing happens.

Man I am sick of the argument that we are losing off of coaching alone and it has nothing to do with having inferior talent. Is Corbin part of the problem? Almost certainly. Is he the sole reason why we lose? Certainly not. We literally have nobody on the wing that can get their own shot. Nobody.

I do find it hilarious that when I was so critical of Corbin at the very beginning, I was thrown under the bus by 98% of the guys on this forum. Called a hater, Debbie Downer, ect. Kinda funny how things work out huh

Who out there would've made us better? Drew Gooden? Kris Humphries? No point in making a trade if all we were going to get back was an overpaid scrub.

We certainly weren't going to take anybody from Phoenix.

Don't get me wrong, it was a really good game, very exciting. But when the most efficient player on the team plays the least amount of minutes that's purely a coaching issue. It's not like Kanter wasn't playing against Garnett half the time either. He was pissing KG off so much that Doc had to pull him from the game, and he didn't want to get off the court. Kanter was playing awesome ball, and how is he rewarded? Pulled to the bench to let Jefferson in, who wouldn't drive down low for some reason. My other big beef was in the OT, Paul Pierce fouled early putting him at 5 fouls. After that you feed the ball to Carroll and have him play very aggressive ball against Pierce. Doesn't matter if Pierce is that much better offensively, he was fouling Carroll all game, and you make him foul you or get out the way because he wants to stay in the game. Instead he was calling plays for Hayward and Burks to. This wasn't a player issue, it was a coach problem. Just one more example and I'll get off my soap box. Millsap was LIMPING on the court, he's not going to ask to come out because Millsap is awesome. But Corbin has to be the better man, tell him he's not going to help when he has to limp off the court, and replace him right away with Favors or Kanter. We have big men that are viable replacements that actually play better ball, why won't he use them?

Corbin is afraid to trust young guys. Plain and simple. I'm sick of it. Completely sick of watching us lose games due to rotations and not using guys that are successful so we can put back in Milly/Al.

Corbin is afraid to trust young guys? Perhaps. Sloan was too. When a game is on the line against a top caliber team it can be downright scary to trust a young guy who is almost by definition destined to make mistakes when the game is on the line. I call that being smart.

During a game in 1982, Frank Layden, then head coach of the Utah Jazz, had seen enough of his team's poor performance and wanted an early exit. Layden verbally abused Strom so he could get ejected from the game. Strom knew what he was trying to do, and when Layden asked why he didn't eject him, Strom replied, "I know what you're trying to do, Frank, but if I've got to stay out here and watch this $#!^, so do you".

P.S. I am part of the two percent.

But sloan DID play young guys if they were good enough, the second year D Will was starting and finishing and everything in between, Mathews is another perfect example. We had Ronnie Brewer who had been in the league already and he puts in a rookie during the playoffs. Corbin just flat out doesn't even give them a chance.

well, obviously when someone only posts stuff about how bad corbin is, they deserve the term 'hater' and 'debbie downer.' jumba thinks someone else can do better, but i only see corbin's name in 10% of his posts. personally, i think anyone who can only point to 1 or 2 reasons we are not an okc-caliber team is half-braindead at best.

i disagree. he does give them chances. i just think that players shouldn't need to foul out in 20 minutes to know they have a problem. that's why favors isn't given more time.
