i hope not, if anything we should contract two teams, overall with the cap the playing field in terms of talent has spread out more but there are teams consistently in the bottom half of the standings and are losing money to boot, but since its bettmans vision to have a 32 team league i wouldnt be surprised if this happens though

I would rather look at cities who have no business having teams and move them to deserving ones that want to support one.

Seattle and Kansas city are both logical candidates based on location and on interest, if the NHL were to go the expansion route.

If the NHL were to go the expansion route, I'd rather see Quebec City and Milwaukee get teams because I think they'd be more willing to support teams through their first few years where they aren't as good as teams that could relocate to Seattle and Kansas City(Florida, Phoenix.)

I'm starting to think a East/Central/West split might be the way to go, but it wouldn't be easy on travel. Markets like Toronto/Hamilton need another team, but there is no way to do that without overpopulating the East.

That's a little melodramatic. There was a time not that long ago that the Avs were perennial contenders and one of the teams to beat every year. Besides, Nashville and Dallas are in downswings for the most part right now too. Originally Posted by tp13baby
