    Bills in Toronto

As a Toronto resident im curious to hear what american bills fans think of the bills in toronto series. as many of you have probably heard, the players often see it as a joke. Would love to hear what the fans think of the idea.. is it really like an unfair advantage?

I get it from a financial perspective and personally I love Toronto. I hate it from a competitive standpoint though. It's absolutely a disadvantage to play a "home" game on a foreign field, different city, different playing conditions, different fan support. I'd rather see Toronto residents get free tickets to support the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo.

I rather drive down to Buffalo to watch a game.... Rogers Center is just a ****** atmosphere for a NFL game.

My feelings exactly… From a financial standpoint, it's great. It really sucks giving a home game away like that.

Pretty much this. There are two reasons I like it, one the Bills cashed in huge with this deal, and the other I somewhat enjoy seeing Rogers and MLSE get fleeced. Other than that, I will never even accept free tickets to go to the game at the Dome. I'd take a game at the Ralph 11 times out of 10.

Being that you live in Toronto, can you confirm a law. A Lawyer that I know said that there is a law in Canada, that states that an American Team sport cannot move its franchise into a Canadian City, unless that City is deprived of all professional sports. Meaning an NFL Franchise could only move into Toronto, if Toronto loses all of the teams such as Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, Raptors and Argonauts. I have looked to confirm it but come up empty. Has that ever been talked about in Toronto.

Sort of true. If the team has a football/hockey/basketball etc team in that city, then there will be a hefty price they will need to pay. I forget what type of price it is, but it is something like infringement on territory or something like that. Now, in Toronto's case, all there is is the CFL's Argos, and there was talk that the league was going to put this rule in for all professional football, but last I heard, if an NFL team were to move to Toronto, it wouldn't need to talk with or hammer out a deal with a CFL team, because it is deemed as a different market. I know I worded that weirdly, but thats how it works. The team that is in the city, basically owns that city's boundaries and any other team trying to come in has to basically purchase it for rent, I guess.
