    Glen Grunwald

I posted a little bit of this on the Coach Woodson thread but I think that it needs one of its own.

What in the heck was our GM thinking when he signed Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby through 2014 and Steve Novak and Raymond Felton through 2015.?

Those are idiotic contracts. Hopefully Kidd and Camby will retire after this year but it is probably ridiculous to think that they will leave millions of dollars on the table and walk away.

Steve Novak, who cannot get a shot off anymore because teams realized what Miami found out last year in the playoffs that if you guard him he is useless, is here through 2015 !!!.

Marcus Camby who is never healthy to play is here through 2014 !!!

Jason Kidd, might as well bring back Richie Guerin who is probably in better shape, is here through 2014.

Raymond Felton, yes I will say it...Jeremy Lin is better and would have been in the long run, is here through 2015.

Grunwald has been sipping whatever Mr. Thomas was sipping in his stay here.

If the Knicks falter and cannot get out of the first round then Mr. Grunwald and Mr. Woodson should file for Unemployment Insurance because both should not be retained for next year !!!

People on this forum may not want to hear it, but this team is done. Even if we start playing well this is not a championship team. I do not know much about Grunwald but next year we need to unload all the dead weight. Camby, Rasheed, Kidd, Prigoni, JR and Novak. Then I would get rid of the coach. I would also see if we could move Chandler only if we can get quality back in terms of young talent or draft picks. Stat I believe we cannot move and no one will want Felton, so we are stuck with them. I then start looking for young, atheletic and multifaceted players. Change the coach to one that will teach fundamentals and hard practices focusing on execution. We need a coach like Chicagos, no nonsense, demands fundamental basketball and execution on both sides of the floor and will get in your face if you are not in compliance. No more one trick pony players or ovetly emotional players, we atheleticism and intelligence

Just imagine if you were a music performer performing at MSG in front of a sold out crowd and you have already got paid up front for your performance. And on top of that you have already won a gramy in the past ( j. Kid , Tyson , sheed , melo(gold), pablo(gold).and in the beginning of the show the fans were cheering you on and then after a few off notes due to lake of energy because you just sung your heart out for the first 20 songs and you figured you would save the best for last. But it doesn't even get to that point because the fans start to boo you and throw garbage at you and start making rumors that he should have gave up music 5 years ago and he sucks I wish we had a young energetic singer in here he should fire his manager and so on....... Now you tell me if you were that performer and everybody is booing you would you be interested in playing your heart out? Especially if you already got paid for the show and you have already won the gramy ? Hell no I would think ( forget these ungrateful , inpatient , never won anything in there life losers!

he did not sign Kidd and camby to play all those 3yrs... camby is prob done and Kidd has like one more year..

Novak is now a trade asset at that price. and Felton's deal was modest.

We have a 3 year window. So we signed players to 3 year contracts.
Novak's contract isn't as big as most make it out to be and its a decent size trade chip.
Felton's contract despite how I feel about him as a player is a bargain.
Camby's deal isn;t fully guaranteed and I see him retiring next season.
Grunwald did an amazing job this offseason, don't let our recent skid diminish that.

Trade Everyone!!! Let's start from scratch. Let's move to Queens and do this expansion team style.

Sometimes I feel that Knicks fans deserve the teams of the past few years that found it hard to break 30 wins over the course of a season
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

    And the beat goes on...

I think injuries have played a large part in the Knicks downfall. the team has not been healthy and full strength all year. I don't think it was the intention for Sheed, Camby and Kidd or Thomas to log many minutes. Knicks looked good in the beginning, but the long season has taken its toll on the older guys. I personally don't think at this point they can win a championship with this roster. It is a major improvement from previous years but I don't think Knick fans want to go there. I think the problem forever in NY is win now. By continuing to get older guys the team doesn't gel because of injuries or retirement. It's one and done. Looking back, at first I would have fought you for the Melo trade, saying we need a star player at crunch time. but reality is he is only going to get you maybe 5 or 6 more wins at best. Love Melo, but I love watching the Nuggets with Chandler, Gallo, Brewer - all ex-Knicks. it's a tough call in the NBA and NY is a tough place to play and satisfy media and fans. I know management wants to win. I just think to turn it around in one year and win a championship after the past ten years+ of below average play is too much. I also believe it is way beyond reality that one guy is going to change it all for any team. You can say Lebron but he didn't win it all until he got teamed with Bosh and Wade. Same for Kobe and Shaq. the exception might be Nowitzki in Dallas but he had a cast of good players, some all-stars around him. I'm not really all that disappointed at this point. It is what it is. Play out the saeson, see what happens in the playoffs and make the adjustments in the off season.

Worst move by Grunwald was signing Woodson to an extension.

I've never been a fan of his ISO heavy ball and he never makes adjustments and his stubborn philosophy of if something is not working, continue to try it even though it's clear it won't work.

The way this team is currently constructed, it would flourish under a coach who actually ran plays for it's best player.

Every game, same thing. Melo posting up in ISO and kicking it out if he's double teamed. It's ridiculous how hard Melo has to work just to get the ball.

Our system is very simple and that's why teams have shut us down after our hot start.

A coach like Thibs or Brooks would have this team at #1 right now.

Novak's contract is a joke. Felton's is a bargain although 1 less year would have been nice. Camby is the buzzkill of the century.
