Kleiza season and future in doubt, will most likely need knee surgery

The 28-year-old Kleiza has been sidelined for the last couple of months and has appeared in only 20 games this season. According to Asta Zukaite of 15min.lt, this number is unlikely to change.

It is claimed that the player could not only be done for the season, but the future of his career in general is in doubt.

Although Kleiza has stated that the knee issues have been caused by a long summer with the Lithuanian national team, unconfirmed sources suggest that the first arthroscopic surgery, which was performed by Dr. J. Richard Steadman in Colorado in 2011, might not have gone fully according to plan.

According to the former head of the Lithuanian national team’s delegation and a good friend of Kleiza, Antanas Guoga, it is likely that the surgery will need to be repeated.

Sucks to possibly lose the guy. I remember a few years ago he was our top scoring option off of the bench. However, now with the emergence of Anderson, I'm pretty sure we won't miss the production Kleiza brought to the table.

We should delete this thread before too many people take it at face value. Klieza says he's fine and feeling good.

I like Kleiza, he's tough, he doesn't back down to anyone, he rebounds well, he can space the floor, he can post up a little. Kind of the things we all wish Bargnani would do.

He gets a lot of hate from Raptors fans, If he didn't have injuries, he would have been a useful player off the bench. I believe if healthy, he can be more of a contributor off the bench then Bargnani.

Kleiza's due back next week so this thread should be closed. Kleiza should be pretty effective with this roster. We need a stretch 4 cause Bargnani is struggling. It's a great opportunity for both of them to shine. Hopefully, one of them accepts the challenge.

I hope LK is still alright. The bummed knee has always been a concern, however he is a real effect bench guy, 7th or 8th man that can come in and deliver decent D as well as a solid shooting touch around the arc.
