Will Nnamdi restructure deal? If not where does he end up?

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...agles-contract

Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly didn't exactly paint a rosy picture of Nnamdi Asomugha's future with the team Thursday. Asked for his assessment of the veteran cornerback, Kelly struggled.

"I think Nnamdi has the skill set ... that can play football," Kelly told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Don't bank on that happening in Philly.

Our friend Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman will meet with Asomugha's agent, Ben Dogra, on Friday morning to discuss the player's future with the team. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Eagles will ask Asomugha to restructure his contract -- he's set to earn $15 million this season, with $4 million guaranteed -- or be released.

Asomugha has been an expensive disappointment for the Eagles. After some decent play in 2011, Asomugha was a mess last season, often caught out of position and failing to mesh with free-agent-to-be Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. The current coaching staff didn't lure Asomugha to Philly, and they aren't about to pay this kind of money for a player whose production has tipped off a cliff.

We'll have more from the combine as this story develops.

Restructuring is more important to the Eagles than it is for Nnamdi. They are going to release him anyway. The Eagles are only asking him to restructure so as to minimize the acceleration against their cap. But they've no plans to keep him. He'll be gone before training camp is over. And I don't blame the Eagles one bit when they do cut him. Nnamdi was overhyped by the Al Davis Machine and never played up to his contract in Philly.

if he takes a pay cut he will stay and if he is wise he will take it cuz if he is cut he will get less from his new team then what the eagles are going to pay./

Nnamdi in the right system can still be a top CB in my opinion. Was never worth the money he got but he can still be a impact player.

In the right system he's worth the money if your team is willing to build a defense that suits his skill set(like you said pretty much), his numbers in Oakland speak for themself, him and Revis werent constantly debatrd about who was better for no reason. Which is something I was wrong about too. Revis has certainly proven to be better.

to this day i still believe his struggles had to do with terrible safety play and just bad defensive coaching, i want him to stay but he would have to restructure and i just dont think he'll do it because i think they will ask for too much of a cut

there are younger CBs that's cheaper that can produce better than Nnamdi did in Philly so to be honest i don't think they care if he stays or goes, its in his best interests to restructure like Vick did.
    Eagles offseason:
    [] Hire new coaching staff
    [] Restructure Mike Vick
    [] Sign/draft Starting OLineman
    [] Sign/draft physical cornerbacks
    [] Sign/draft Starting Safeties
    [] Sign/draft Big WR
    [] Sign veteran Safety

I hope TB picks him up, they've got so much potential for next season if they can just fill a few holes in the secondary.

I don't know, he never had any safety help in oak, and he was shutdown. I think he just lost a step. Does he play bump n run in philly? If not, then that probably has a lot to do with it too

A question to Eagles fans. Nnamdi will likely be cut and DRC is a FA, if I'm not mistaken. Who will play the CB for you guys?
